Former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary says the newly released diaries of Dr. Anthony Fauci echo doubts he formed about Fauci’s motives years before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Makary said in a resurfaced 2024 interview he “first became suspicious of Dr. Fauci and his motives” during the 2014 Ebola outbreak, when Fauci insisted on transferring a recovering nurse from Dallas to the National Institutes of Health, arguing the move was motivated by publicity rather than medical necessity. Makary said the transfer needlessly exposed others.
