On Tuesday, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton got schlonged by socialist Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders in the New Hampshire primary by 22 percentage points. Still, Queen Hillary walked away with possibly two more delegates than Sanders numbered in his post-superdelegate count.
The delegate split pre-superdelegate count was based on popular vote; with a total of 24 “pledged” delegates, Sanders received 13 whereas Hillary only received nine (two currently remain “allotted to neither”). Sanders obviously won more delegates here because “pledged” delegates are mandated to line-up behind the candidate as reflected in the popular vote.
But here’s where Sanders got schlonged: A total of eight superdelegates, who can vote for either candidate no matter how the state votes, unsurprisingly backed Hillary over Bernie. Thus far, six of the eight superdelegates have been awarded to the former secretary of state while two remain “undecided.”
This brings Hillary to a total of 15 delegates while Sanders stays with the 13 he won via popular vote.
As we all know, Democrats love redistribution. So maybe New Hampshire is just their example of how “fair” redistribution, in this case with votes, can actually be.
A quick thought from the great Rush Limbaugh on the situation: “Bernie’s always talking about how this system’s rigged and that system’s rigged, the economy is rigged and Wall Street’s rigged. Wait ’til he finds out that New Hampshire was rigged.”
