The #MeToo movement was recently rocked by a bombshell New York Times report that revealed Italian actress Asia Argento, a #MeToo icon, allegedly had child actor and former co-star Jimmy Bennett paid off to the tune of $380,000 to keep quiet about sexually assaulting him when he was a minor.
Argento initially claimed that she never had a sexual relationship with Bennett, whom she painted as a money-hungry extortionist. She also said it was her late boyfriend, TV host Anthony Bourdain, who suggested Bennett be paid off.
