Rocky Mountain High: Coach Prime Picks Colorado As He Continues His Climb

DailyWire.com

The University of Colorado football program jumped right back into relevancy after announcing the hiring of former Jackson State head coach Deion Sanders.

Coach Prime has already hit the ground running in recruiting and is building an elite staff as he attempts to turn the Colorado program around.

While I think most of us agree he will do well, the real question is: Will he win big? And that’s the question everyone seems to be divided on.

In my view, this is a ‘bridge job’ or a stop gap on his road to operating at the top of the college football head coaching tier.

Colorado has seemingly decided to take football seriously and does have nice growth potential, but if Deion has any modicum of over-achieving early in his new job, his name will be atop the list of every major program looking for a new leader.

We have seen the early returns from top recruits around the country and they are all about some Coach Prime.

Colorado will have the players to be able to compete for the Pac-12 (soon to be 10) title, but it isn’t just the players who help pull you over the championship finish line. It’s operating efficiently, having the right people in the right places, catching breaks and knowing when to say when.

If Prime can hit on those like he will in recruiting, Colorado will level up fast. But in the end, this is only the bridge to where he could end up.
