On Tuesday, Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson took a break from his busy schedule as a “tie-loathing adventurer, philanthropist & troublemaker, who believes in turning ideas into reality,” to celebrate the “generosity” of George Soros — infamously described as “the man who broke the bank of England” — for having “done much to change the world for the better.”
Branson is specifically celebrating Soros for his recent transfer of $18 billion to his liberal Open Society Foundation, which instantly made it the second-biggest nonprofit in the country.
Soros, Forbes’ 23rd richest person in the world, is widely considered the most influential donor to left-wing causes in the nation, including far-left activists groups.
He’s also so “generous” that he generously “broke the bank of England” in 1992 by betting against the pound, effectively transferring $1 billion of the nation’s cash into his own pockets and “demolishing the monetary system of Great Britain in a single day.” He’s gone on to manipulate other currencies around the world to promote his own financial interests and political agenda and fund various radical left groups and causes.
Soros’ infamous cash-grab and sketchy dealings were not lost on many online, who took to Twitter to offer Branson their perspective on the left-wing megadonor’s “generosity.” A few examples of the brutal blowback to Branson’s celebration:
