Last week, Steven Spielberg’s daughter, Mikaela, made the stunning announcement that she will be turning to a career in porn while asserting that she had the full support from her father and mother, Kate Capshaw. According to sources close with the family, however, both Steven and his wife Kate are “concerned” and “embarrassed” over Mikaela’s new career path despite their full-support
“As Mikaela said, Steven and Kate are nothing but supportive of her, as they are with all their children,” a family friend told Page Six. “Outwardly, Steven and Kate — who are the most evolved parents in the world and love their kids beyond all measure — have always been supportive of Mikaela and try to understand her. Obviously, though, they’re embarrassed by her sudden public admission of entry into the sex worker world.”
“Nothing can hurt Steven Spielberg’s immaculate reputation, nor Kate’s, but they’re worried about how [Mikaela’s revelation] looks for their other kids, who are trying to be supportive but who are also embarrassed,” the family friend added. “This certainly isn’t how they were raised.”
Due to Steven and Kate hailing from Hollywood, the family friend said they are well-aware that children of people in that industry are “complicated.”
“[Steven and Kate] are friends with many artistic people, and those people are complicated and some have complicated kids. Everybody gets it. Some kids, no matter what advantages — or even because of them — are just lost,” said the family friend. “Maybe Mikaela felt unworthy of her folks, of her name, that she could never live up to it. It’s hard to be the product of parents who are so successful.”
Speaking with The Sun last week, Mikaela, a.k.a. “Sugar Star,” said that she has self-produced her own porn videos and will be obtaining a sex worker license in Tenessee. Her parents were reportedly “not upset” by the news but were “intrigued.”
“My safety has always been a number one priority for them,” Mikaela said. “I’m doing this, not out of an urge to hurt anybody or be spiteful about it, I’m doing this because I want to honor my body in a way that’s lucrative.”
“I actually think that once they see how far I’ve come from the bottom I was at a year and a half ago, they’re going to look at this and go, ‘Wow, we actually raised are really self-assured, young lady,” added Mikaela.
A friend of Mikaela’s in Nashville told Page Six that the Spielberg daughter is a “jovial person” with a rich knowledge of religion and philosophy.
“Mikaela and I met at a cafe. I was discussing the differences in Reformed, Orthodox, Hasidic and Qabalistic Judaic practices with a friend who was studying to become a rabbi when she walked up and joined right into the conversation,” said the friend. “She’s a very bubbly and jovial person and has a deep knowledge and understanding of Judaism … as well as a vast knowledge of other religions. It wasn’t until the aftermath of the Charlottesville [massacre], when we went for proper drinks to calm our nerves at the idea of what it meant to be Jewish in this country now, that I found out she was a Spielberg.”
