Report: Democrats ‘Largely Give Up’ On Impeachment, ‘Collusion’

After a weekend full of signals by Democratic leaders that they will not be letting up on their plans to continue to investigate President Trump with an eye to potentially impeaching him despite Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s “collusion”-killing report, Democratic House leaders huddled together Monday night to figure out how to move forward. The takeaway, according to The Washington Post, is that they’re “largely giving up” on impeaching Trump.

Citing three sources with knowledge about the meeting, the Post reports that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and members of her leadership team “agreed in a Monday night huddle that the caucus needs to stop talking about collusion with Russia because it was distracting from their legislative agenda.”
