After publicly and privately discussing reasons to impeach Donald Trump since before he was even inaugurated, the Democrats finally zeroed in on a rationale with the famous Ukraine whistleblower complaint: President Trump’s alleged “pressuring” of Ukraine to investigate his political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.
After weeks of controversial private testimony and public hearings, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) submitted the Democrats’ resolution on Dec. 10 with two articles of impeachment against the president for alleged “abuse of power” and “obstructing Congress.” The Democrats’ resolution was finalized on Dec. 15.
