Kanye West’s decision to break free of the Left’s “plantation” mentality and say a bunch of things that his fellow celebrities, particularly in the hip-hop world, don’t like, has officially turned dangerous for the MAGA-supporting star.
CBS Los Angeles reports that a former member of Snoop Dogg’s rapping entourage has issued a “Crip alert” to gang members calling for violence against West.
“Yo national alert, all the Crips out there, y’all f*** Kanye up,” said former Tha Dogg Pound member Daz Dillinger, in a video posted to his Instagram account which he has since removed.
“Better not ever see you in concert. Better not ever see you around the LBC. Better not ever see you around California. Stay in Calabasas, ya hear me? ‘Cuz we got a Crip alert for Kanye,” said the rapper, whose real name is Delmar Drew Arnaud. (Watch the video here.)
Dillinger also posted a similar message on Twitter in all caps calling on the “Crip” to “F*** KANYE UP”:
West has caused a stir on the Left after he came out last week in full-throated support of his “brother” President Trump, MAGA hat and all. He has also openly criticized the idea that African Americans must support the Democratic Party, comparing the sentiment pushed by Democrats to still being on the “plantation.”
“See that’s the problem with this damn nation,” West raps in the song “Ye vs. the People” released Friday. “All blacks gotta be Democrats. Man, we ain’t made it off the plantation.”
West took aim at the Democratic narrative again on Monday in a tweet that melted down the internet. “Abe Lincoln freed and protected the slaves and he was republican,” he wrote. “Republicans were the ones who’s helped black people … democrats protected the rights of the slave owners in the South.”
Dillinger isn’t the only person on the Left trying to silence Kanye. Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters unloaded on West on Monday in a stunningly paternalistic rant in which she chided him for talking “out of turn” and saying too much about politics, which she suggested he needs to “not have so much to say.”
“Kanye West is a very creative young man,” Waters said Monday in response to a question from a Politico reporter. “But we also think that sometimes West talks out of turn and perhaps he needs some assistance in helping him to formulate some of his thoughts. We don’t think that he actually means to do harm, but we’re not sure he really understands the impact of what he’s saying, at the time that he’s saying it and how that weighs on, particularly the African-American community – and for young people in general. I understand that he is getting pushback from a lot of young people on the internet … but we’re hopeful that his creativity will continue to be demonstrated in his work. And I think maybe he should think twice about politics – and maybe not have so much to say.”
