Progressive Activists Ask San Fran’s Soros-Backed D.A. To Challenge L.A.’s Top Prosecutor

Several activist groups in Southern California have asked one of the nation’s most progressive prosecutors to consider launching a campaign against Los Angeles County’s incumbent district attorney, Jackie Lacey, who is up for re-election next year.

San Francisco District Attorney George Gascón announced on Friday that he is contemplating joining the race and returning to L.A., where he served as a police officer many years ago.
