Poll: Over Half Of American Voters Think The Clintons Should Be Investigated For Ties To Russia

   DailyWire.com

A new Rasmussen poll found that a majority of American voters think that Bill and Hillary Clinton should be investigated as part of the Russian probe.

The poll, conducted between March 3 and April 2, found that 52 percent of voters believed that the Clintons’ various ties to Russia are worth examining in the probe; 35 percent didn’t think that the Clintons should be a part of the investigation at all, and 13 percent weren’t sure.

Below are the breakdowns by political party of the percentage who felt that the Clintons should be investigated:

  • Republican: 69 percent.
  • Democrat: 37 percent.
  • Neither: 51 percent.

On whether President Donald Trump and his campaign should be investigated for ties to Russia, 50 percent of voters agreed that they should be investigated, whereas 45 percent thought that Congress should focus on other matters.

Examining along partisan lines, 70 percent of Democrat voters thought that Trump and his campaign should be included in the Russian investigation while only 28 percent of Republican voters agreed.

Rasmussen provided some context for the survey:

Sixty-three percent (63%) said in April 2015 that it’s likely some actions Clinton took as secretary of State were influenced by donations made to the Clinton Foundation.

Most voters think Russia is a likely influence on Trump’s foreign policy but also tend to view critics of fallen National Security Adviser Michael Flynn as more interested in scoring political points than in U.S. national security. The president asked for Flynn’s resignation because the latter did not fully disclose all his private contacts with Russian officials.

Voters now regard Russia as a bigger long-term threat to the United States than China. Republicans are more confident than Democrats and unaffiliateds, though, that the U.S.-Russia relationship will improve.

Voters may be onto something when it comes to the Clintons and Russia. The Daily Caller has reported on the ties between John Podesta, Hillary Clinton’s former campaign chairman, and a firm founded by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Podesta threatened the news outlet with a cease and desist letter, but The Daily Caller pushed back.

Additionally, various quid pro quo deals occurred under Hillary’s tenure as secretary of state that benefited the Russians and rewarded Clinton Foundation donors at the expense of American national security.
