It’s bad enough that many college students feel entitled to other people’s money; for example, a study discovered that around 30% of students on loan programs use government’s money to pay for their spring break excursions instead of paying for textbooks, living expenses, and even their own tuition.
Here’s where it gets insane: a Latina student at Pitzer College sent an email through the student-talk listserv asking white students to pay for her trip to Oakland and National Parks across California. Leandra Vargas, a junior at Pitzer and a self-identified “queer person of color,” sent the following email to the student body:
Whatsgood lovely folks,
Support QPOC Spring Break Trip!
[A] bunch of us [are trying to] get away from this toxic institution for the break & we were lucky enough to be lent a car. however, gas is expensive. we are hoping [people] are willing to support us in our ventures out to queer [as f–] [O]akland & some national parks to find some spaceeee to breatheee.
[C]alling on white allies especially [for your] support– remember that everything that [you] are/have [right now] is due to the genocide and enslavement of our [people]… yet all [I’m] asking [for] is a bit of cash to get us [through] the week. [Thanks] <3
Vargas also posted the same message on her Facebook page:
She also left her Venmo address at the bottom of the email.
Vargas attempted to guilt white students into giving her money because she argued this country was forged off “genocide” and the enslavement of others. While the history of the United States is not rainbows and unicorns, it is completely insane for students to claim that their white peers should front the cost of their spring break trips.
The Daily Wire does not know how much money this racist, entitled individual raised on Venmo, but the email gave a good impression of what kind of education (or lack thereof) Vargas got from an institution that charges $66,192 for tuition, room, board, and fees. In addition, she did not show any gratitude for Pitzer as she referred to it as a “toxic institution.”

As a Pitzer College graduate, I can offer her the following advice: If you do not like it at Pitzer, then you should leave and stop wasting everybody’s time, money, and effort trying to educate you. Clearly, it has not been a resounding success.
