Following President Trump’s highly controversial speech at the Boy Scout Jamboree, many members of the media and the Left went so far as to compare it to a Hitler Youth rally. During the speech, Trump made it partisan by trashing Democrats and Republicans, breaking away from the tradition of talking about public service or giving back to the United States. The Left, which has a long history of targeting the Boy Scouts, responded to Trump’s speech with its usual outrage.
So-called “comedian” Patton Oswalt used the speech to issue a series of vulgar tweets that objectified women, particularly First Lady Melania Trump.

Oswalt, in an attempt to mock Trump’s history of misogynistic comments, did precisely what the Left claims to hate Trump for doing: objectifying women rather than treating them as equitable human beings. The difference, of course, is that this is supposed to be “comedy” meant to make Trump seem like a colossal jackass. However, Oswalt only demonstrates that it is only okay to treat women as objects if it is intended to make the Right look bad.
There are plenty of legitimate criticisms against Trump’s speech. This completely missed the mark.
