For the second time in a week, Nicki Minaj is trying to break the internet with her fashion choices.

This time, Minaj posed on Instagram wearing a tie-dye yellow tube dress, along with fishnet heels and sunglasses. The post’s caption read, “Btchs act like they want action, heard they want action, btch we aint duckin no action. I’m bout to giv’em dat traction, send a distraction— then ima line’em like FRACTIONS. FRIDAY.”

According to internal data and Google Trends, global fashion brand PrettyLittleThing reported that demands for similar dresses have rocketed upwards, with an increase of 1,011% in just a matter of hours following Minaj’s post.

She is a magnet for attention who knows how to turn every head,” wrote the Daily Mail

This surge comes just days after Minaj caused Crocs’ website to crash after sales of the footwear skyrocketed by 4,900% after she shared a nude photograph on social media, posing wearing nothing more than a “hot pink bedazzled pair of Crocs.”

“The Anaconda star had intended the image to be a teaser for an upcoming project, as she shared it on her social media pages alongside the cryptic caption ‘Friday,’” reported WENN, adding, “But what Nicki perhaps hadn’t predicted was that the picture – which featured her wearing a hot pink bedazzled pair of Crocs and using fluffy cushions to otherwise protect her modesty – would lead to a massive spike in sales for the footwear company.”

According to reports, the pink Crocs were so highly sought after that the Crocs website crashed as fans rushed to buy their own pair, while “pink Crocs” and “Nicki Minaj Crocs” trended on Google Search.

However, so-called “breaking the internet” is certainly not unusual for the rapper. After Kim Kardashian “broke the internet” in 2014 with her famous “champagne” photo, Nicki Minaj partnered with Paper Magazine to attempt to out-do the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star.

The Paper article was not exactly subtle, with multiple photographs of Minaj posing half-naked wearing designer clothing, alongside super-imposed versions of herself.

Three years after Kim Kardashian’s viral naked cover, Paper magazine has come back with another ‘Break The Internet’ issue. And, it sure is racy,” reported Mashable in 2017. “In the NSFW cover story—entitled ‘Minaj À Trois’— the rapper appears three-fold in varying degrees of undress.”

“You’d be forgiven for assuming, at first glance, that Minaj is in the company of two other women. But, look closely and you’ll see three different Nickis, each styled completely differently,” Mashable added.

“We have never called an issue Break the Internet since we did it back in 2014 with Kim Kardashian. It takes a certain type of talent, with an awesome fan base and the ability to put trust in PAPER to work our magic,” explained Paper’s creative director, Drew Elliott.
