Michael Jackson’s Daughter Responds To Reports She Attempted Suicide: ‘LIARS’

   DailyWire.com

On Saturday, TMZ reported that Paris Jackson, the 20-year-old daughter of iconic pop star Michael Jackson, was released from the hospital Saturday after attempting to take her own life, again — an action “sources close” to her told the outlet was prompted by the backlash over “Leaving Neverland.” Jackson has since forcefully denied the report.

TMZ reported Saturday that Jackson was briefly hospitalized Saturday “after she attempted suicide — and family sources tell us it’s due in large to the fallout from ‘Leaving Neverland.'”

“Law enforcement sources tell us police and EMS responded to Paris’ L.A. home at 7:30 AM,” the outlet reported. “We’re told Michael Jackson’s only daughter slit her wrists. Our sources say she was transported to a hospital and placed on 5150 hold. She’s currently in stable condition.”

Citing sources with inside knowledge about the situation, TMZ said Paris’s alleged actions were “in direct response” to the allegations of child molestation against Michael Jackson raised by Wade Robson and James Safechuck in the HBO documentary “Leaving Neverland.” In an update to the article later that day, TMZ reported that she’d been released from the hospital and was “under the care of her team.”

People looked into the claim and appeared to get confirmation about the suicide attempt. “At about 7:28 a.m., officers responded to the 7200 block of Hillside for an ambulance attempt suicide. The victim was transported to a local hospital,” Los Angeles Police Department public information officer Tony Im told the magazine Saturday.

But, as People points out, Paris — who told the Rolling Stone in 2017 that she’d attempted suicide “multiple times” — is publicly denying the claims in no uncertain terms. On Saturday, Paris responded directly to TMZ on Twitter with a succinct but memorable denial: “f*** you you f***ing liars.”

She also posted a response to since-deleted tweet referencing the TMZ story with “lies lies lies omg and more lies,” People noted.

In its report, People published photos of Paris “out and about in good spirits” Saturday with her boyfriend.

TMZ is still standing by its initial report, which stressed Paris’s defense of her father amid the renewed focus on the allegations from Robson and Safechuck that Michael Jackson molested them when they were children. Despite legal threats from the Jackson estate, HBO has stood firm behind its documentary.

In 2017, Paris revealed to Rolling Stone that she had attempted to take her own life “multiple times.” Her 2013 attempt has been widely reported, but according to Paris, that was just one of many attempts that “became public”:

In June 2013, drowning in depression and a drug addiction, she tried to kill herself at age 15, slashing her wrist and downing 20 Motrin pills. “It was just self-hatred,” she says, “low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn’t do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore.” She had been self-harming, cutting herself, managing to conceal it from her family. Some of her tattoos now cover the scars, as well as what she says are track marks from drug use. Before that, she had already attempted suicide “multiple times,” she says, with an incongruous laugh. “It was just once that it became public.” The hospital had a “three-strike rule,” she recalls, and, after that last attempt, insisted she attend a residential therapy program.
