Speaking with David Letterman on his Netflix show, Melinda Gates, wife of billionaire Bill Gates, outlined the many social engineering initiatives behind the couple’s famous philanthropic organization, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gates discussed with Letterman how her philanthropic organization functions in the same way as the Rockefeller Foundation or the Carnegie Foundation — as a non-profit that experiments in social engineering to provide a potential model for government.
“What philanthropy can do that a government can’t do with taxpayer funding is to take some risks, and if they prove out, then it’s up to us to get government to really scale them up,” she said. “Our foundation uniquely thinks about, where can we uniquely act in the world? So a lot of the work we do in the developing world is around health, because if you don’t start with great health, you can’t go on to get a great education and reach your full potential.”
Later in the interview, Melinda Gates referenced the various population control initiatives that the foundation participates in by way of contraception. Eventually, she even boasts how this population control measure creates divisions between husbands and wives within marriage.
“Here’s how we know [change] is possible; in every country in the world where you’re given access to modern contraceptives, it only takes one generation for them to be fully uptake, and for them to see the birthrate decline,” she said. “And once they have consistent access, women will use it, and what they’ll also do is they’ll do it covertly without their husband knowing it.”
Though Melinda Gates made no mention of abortion in her comments to Letterman, the Gates Foundation routinely gives money to abortion providers like International Planned Parenthood Federation and Marie Stopes International. Her comments on population control follow a report from All Africa last year about the Gates family donating $18 million to “family planning programs” through the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
As noted by LifeNews, Bill and Melinda Gates have earned for themselves a notorious reputation of “pushing birth control on some of the world’s poorest countries while their people cry for clean water, food and basic health care.” UNFPA has also been linked to oppressive population control measures in China, including forced sterilizations and abortions.
All Africa reported in November that the UNFPA family planning program will direct supplies to countries like Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal and Togo. The stated goal: 120 million girls using contraception by 2020.
“Under the Ouagadougou Partnership, family planning efforts will be made with initiatives that enable 120 million more women and girls to use contraceptives by 2020 and accelerate progress in the use of family planning services in targeted countries,” reported All Africa.
In June of last year, Melinda Gates blasted the Trump administration for defunding the International Planned Parenthood by reinstating the Mexico City Policy shortly after taking office, effectively stripping $100 million from the abortion giant.
Speaking to Britain’s Today Program, Melinda Gates called the administration’s Mexico City Policy “very troubling” and criticized its broad expansion, which effectively forced “reproductive health organizations have to say, even if you’re not receiving government funding for abortions, you won’t even do these [abortions] in your clinic with funding, say, from the U.K. or from France.”
“He [Trump] is proposing not funding family planning and that is a huge problem,” she said. “If you believe in women, you fund family planning and so I’m counting on Congress in the U.S. to hold up U.S. funding on family planning.”
