After Muslim Omar Mateen slaughtered 49 innocents and injured 53 others at a popular gay night club in Orlando, pledging his allegiance to Islamic terrorist group ISIS mid-massacre via a 911 phone call and social media, the Left has scrambled to blame Christianity and the alleged lack of gun control legislation; anything to direct the attention of the American people away from our most serious and growing threat completely mishandled by the Obama Administration: Radical Islam.
This weekend, the NYC LGBTQ community, gathering in Greenwich Village for a vigil for the Orlando victims, advanced the Leftist misdirection by blaming presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.
Yes, seriously.
In a video provided by The Blaze, members of NYC’s LGBTQ community assured the public that “Islam is a religion of peace” and has no record of “hate” toward the LGBT community. “Trump supporters,” rather, are culpable for creating a “particular type of culture” apparently conducive to radical Muslims murdering gays in the name of Allah.
Guns and ill-defined, vague “hate” were also blamed. Not Islam.
One women at the vigil declared “easy access to weapons of war” and “hate” as the two sole causes of the attack. She failed to even mention radical Islam.
“It’s definitely a combination of a lack of gun control and just so much hate for the LGBT community,” said another woman at the vigil.
“I would not blame Islam for this,” she continued. “Islam is a religion of peace, even though there is a lot of extremism, there have been no high examples so far in the United States of America that show straight-up LGBT hate, as far as Islam goes.”
She added that we should “try to leave radical extremism out; just blame no gun control and straight-up hate of the LGBT community.”
The fatal attack was caused by a “particular type of culture that is being brought up right now by, for example, the most prominent and visible, Donald Trump supporters, the absolute disgust and loathing for anything other than one’s selfishness,” said one man.
He added that the attack was “absolutely tied to easy access to guns.” He, too, did not mention radical Islam.
An older gentleman said, “First, this was a hate crime.” He also blamed guns and, finally, terrorism.
Only one attendee on video linked radical Islam to the attack at all. She also blamed the lack of gun control legislation and homophobia.
