Joe Biden ‘Quietly’ Enlists Big Tech Employees To Transition Team

Unsurprisingly, Joe Biden is enlisting managers and directors from Facebook and Google after the companies helped suppress stories that were unfavorable to the Democratic nominee during the 2020 election.

Politico reported in its Transition Playbook that Team Biden has “quietly” brought on employees from Facebook and Google even after Silicon Valley critics suggested he avoid employees from those companies.

“When the Biden transition team released the names of hundreds of personnel on Nov. 10, there were zero current Facebook or Google employees among them. That’s changed — the transition website quietly added four Facebook and Google employees to its agency review teams on or close to Thanksgiving, the hawk-eyed Steven Overly noticed. All four continue to work at their companies while on the transition administration,” Politico reported.

The newsletter listed four Big Tech employees who have been added to Biden’s transition team:

  • ZAID ZAID, a Facebook public policy official, joined the State Department and International Development teams.

  • CHRISTOPHER UPPERMAN, a Facebook manager, was added to the Small Business Administration team.

  • RACHEL LIEBER, a Facebook director and associate general counsel, now sits on the Intelligence Community team.

  • DEON SCOTT, a Google program manager and alum of Obama’s Homeland Security Department, will serve on the DHS team.

The reason Big Tech critics didn’t want employees from these companies in particular is the fact that they are both the subject of antitrust lawsuits. For conservatives, the addition of these employees, along with the former Facebook leaders who had already received top spots on Biden’s tradition team, the revolving door between Silicon Valley and Democratic administrations appears to confirm their bias.

Social media companies suppressed a major story involving Joe Biden’s son Hunter and his Ukraine business dealings just weeks ahead of the 2020 election. As I previously wrote, the outlets admitted they were doing this upfront, claiming it was either because the story was unverified or because Democrats claimed it was Russian disinformation. Of course, the story was true, and the companies didn’t treat similar stories – ones that hurt President Donald Trump – in the same way.

Social media companies that censored the negative story about Hunter Biden eventually relented – after the election. As The Daily Wire’s Hank Berrien previously reported, media and social media’s suppression of eight different stories, including the Hunter Biden scandal, likely swung the election in favor of Biden.

“The eight issues were Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegations against Biden, the financial allegations involving Biden’s son Hunter, the left-wing views of Senator Kamala Harris, the economic snapback from the coronavirus recession as jobs reports surged, the jump in economic growth, the historic peace agreements Trump helped foster between Israel and its Arab neighbors, America’s energy independence under Trump resulting in America becoming a net exporter of oil for the first time in September 2019, and the apparent success of Operation Warp Speed in developing a vaccine for COVID-19,” Berrien reported. “The survey found that 82% of Biden voters were unaware of at least one of the aforementioned issues.”
