Jeb Bush To Trump: Stop Lying

   DailyWire.com

On Tuesday, former Florida governor and Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush slammed President Trump for lying.

Trump “should stop saying things that aren’t true,” Bush said on CBS Miami’s “Facing South Florida.”

“He should stop saying things that aren’t true, that are distractions from the task at hand,” Bush scolded. “He’s got a lot of work to do, and some of these things – the wiretapping, all of this stuff – is a complete distraction that makes it harder to accomplish the things I know he wants to do.”

As Trump’s former political rival, Bush walked a tight line between appearing bitter and sharing legitimate concerns about the president’s mendacious Twitter rants.

“He hasn’t shifted to being president in the way that people are used to, and I think that’s the problem,” he noted.

“I hope he learns it’s one thing to do it as a candidate, where you’re garnering a huge following on Twitter and people go to massive rallies where people clearly love him,” Bush said. “Another thing is when you’re the president; your words have consequences that go way beyond that.”

Offering praise for Trump’s apparent successes in “lifting people’s spirits,” the former candidate added, “The strength is he’s acted in a good way and lifted people’s spirits in terms of economic growth and job creation, but he’s a distraction in and of himself.”

But Bush’s true feelings about Trump were on full display when he answered a question about Trump’s respect (or lack thereof) for the office of the presidency.

Bush answered in the affirmative when asked if the president’s outlandish rhetoric has “diminish[ed] the office of the presidency.”
