Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) took a partisan shot at White House advisor Ivanka Trump after the First Daughter issued a family-related Twitter post concerning coronavirus social distancing.
“Staying home today [with] kids?” Ivanka posted, captioning a photo of herself and two of her young children. “Plan living room camp out!”
“Throw a bedsheet over some taped together brooms. Plan a menu & ‘pack’ sandwiches, salads (S’mores optional),” she added. “A fun activity that also brings family together for a meal!”
“Share your ideas & use the hashtag #TogetherApart,” the eldest Trump daughter encouraged others.

The sweet photo and helpful family-friendly advice was enough to make Omar rifle off a partisan attack with regard to immigration policy.

In the summer of 2019, the crisis at the Southern border dominated news cycles, with partisan hits from the Left at times confusing border facilities housing illegals from former President Barack Obama’s tenure with Trump’s.
At the time, President Donald Trump contended the crisis was agitated by Democrats’ “bad immigration laws.”
“Our Border Patrol people are not hospital workers, doctors or nurses,” he posted in the July 2019 tweet. “The Democrats bad Immigration Laws, which could be easily fixed, are the problem. Great job by Border Patrol, above and beyond.”
“Many of these illegals aliens are living far better now than where they came from, and in far safer conditions,” the president said. “No matter how good things actually look, even if perfect, the Democrat visitors will act shocked & aghast at how terrible things are. Just Pols. If they really want to fix them, change the Immigration Laws and Loopholes. So easy to do!”
“Now, if you really want to fix the Crisis at the Southern Border, both humanitarian and otherwise, tell migrants not to come into our country unless they are willing to do so legally, and hopefully through a system based on Merit,” Trump added. “This way we have no problems at all!”
Omar’s hit concerning the United States’ border policies comes as nations across the globe secure their borders over the China-originated coronavirus scare.
“The EU (European Union) is banning travellers from outside the bloc for 30 days in an unprecedented move to seal its borders amid the coronavirus crisis,” the BBC reported Wednesday. “The measure is expected to apply to 26 EU states as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. UK citizens will be unaffected.”
President Trump strategically restricted China travel on January 31, and expanded the ban to Europe earlier this month.
In a release from the Department of Homeland Security posted last Wednesday, it was specified that the ban would apply to “most foreign nationals who have been in certain European countries at any point during the 14 days prior to their scheduled arrival to the United States,” and expressly exclude “legal permanent residents”:

This does not apply to legal permanent residents, (generally) immediate family members of U.S. citizens, and other individuals who are identified in the proclamation.
