Days after the mother of Hunter Biden’s out-of-wedlock baby demanded he be held in contempt of court for refusing to disclose his income for child support purposes, Hunter Biden’s lawyers announced that he will be skipping a scheduled deposition on Wednesday, March 11, due to coronavirus concerns and his pregnant wife’s approaching due date.

“Defendant requests continuance of the hearing as he is unavailable to attend due to his wife’s due date in 2 and a half weeks or less and risks involved with travel,” Hunter Biden’s lawyers said in the new filing, as reported by Washington Free Beacon. “It is unsafe for the Defendant to travel, as travel restrictions have been implemented both domestically and internationally, particularly on airlines, due to the coronavirus. Setting aside personal endangerment, the Defendant reasonably believes that such travel unnecessarily exposes his wife and unborn child to this virus. California, in particular, has been the site of numerous reported cases of exposure.”

Hunter Biden’s lawyers further argued that the “elevated media scrutiny” due to Joe Biden’s presidential campaign puts him at risk.

“The tremendously elevated media scrutiny creates some physical risks and logistics difficulties with travel to Arkansas, invades the privacy of the Defendant and his 8 and a half month pregnant wife, threatens to complicate the Court’s ability to conduct a public hearing, creates a highly prejudicial environment from Defendant, and cannot be in the child’s or his mother’s interest in any way,” the lawyers said.

As The Daily Wire reported on Sunday, ex-stripper Lunden Alexis Roberts, the mother of Hunter’s child, told the court last week that Hunter Biden has shown no respect for the legal proceeding and demanded that the court “take some action that will make the defendant follow court orders and a believer in the rule of law.”

Fox News detailed the charges brought forth by Roberts and her attorneys:

Specifically, Biden has not turned over information concerning his address, financial institutions he or his businesses use, a list of all the companies he “currently owns or in which he has an ownership interest and the state in which those companies are incorporated,” or a list of “all sources of income for the past five years.”

Additionally, Biden has failed to produce a list of all “employers for the past five years,” an unredacted copy of his tax returns, deeds for properties he owns, and tax documents for companies in which he has any ownership interest.

The previous judge in the case, Don McSpadden, said in December that Biden was “going to have to provide at least the last three years of tax returns.” A Dec. 4 court order required Biden to turn over at a minimum “five most recent paystubs or five previous years” of tax returns; and a later order mandated both sides provide “their personal tax returns for the past five years; and … any and all financial documents and information showing money or monies they received in the past five years.”

The filing comes several months after Roberts filed court documents demanding that Hunter Biden reveal the amount of money earned while working with Burisma – the Ukrainian energy firm where he allegedly earned as much as $50,000 a month between April 2014 and April 2019.

Former Vice President Joe Biden has largely ducked the controversy regarding his grandchild and even expressed hostility to a reporter who dared ask him about it.

“Do you have a comment on this report and court filing out of Arkansas that your son Hunter just made you a grandfather?” Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked Biden previously.

“No, that’s a private matter, I have no comment,” Biden responded. “But only you would ask that. You’re a good man. You’re a good man. Classy.”
