House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) on Sunday slammed the Republican Party for contemplating removing GOP Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) from her leadership position. According to Clyburn, the discussion taking place within the Republican Party is evidence of “cancel culture.”
“I don’t agree with Liz [Cheney] on much politically but, you know, that’s how we grow as a country. This whole thing that everybody ought to march in lockstep, that is what leads people to destruction. People ought to have a diversity of thought. Diversity is very, very important,” Clyburn told CNN’s Jake Tapper. “You want to limit it to gender and sometimes your race, it is also about thought. And I want to see a strong Republican Party.”
