FRANKEL: Arrogant Hollywood Boycott Of Georgia Is A Great Reason To Pass The Fetal Heartbeat Bill

   DailyWire.com

Last week, the Georgia State Legislature passed H.B. 481 — otherwise known as the “fetal heartbeat bill” — and Governor Brian Kemp has indicated that he has every intention to sign it into law. The bill would ban abortions as soon as a heartbeat is detected in the unborn baby, which could be as little as six weeks into pregnancy.

This is a welcome attempt to counter the radically “pro-choice” law passed in New York earlier this year, as well as the bill pushed by Virginia Democrats that would allow abortions up tountilbirth. Other states have also passed heartbeat bills in the last year, such as Ohio and Iowa.

As David French notes at National Review, GOP-led state legislatures should continue to pass heartbeat bills to keep the issue of life at the forefront of the culture war and, in the end, help change our culture from one of death to one of life.

But, as the Left continues to show, just as it is out of touch on many issues, it is also wildly at odds with everyday Americans on the issue of abortion. As such, the Left continues to condescend to everyday Americans, implying that the pro-life position is evil and that anyone who holds it doesn’t care about women’s health.

For example, actress and social activist Alyssa Milano, along with other Georgia-based TV and film workers, pushed Governor Kemp to veto the bill. Last month, Milano tweeted that the bill would “strip women of their bodily autonomy.” According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Milano stated that, “We are going to do everything in our power to move our industry to a safer state for women if HB 481 becomes law,” and posted a public letter signed by 50 Hollywood actors and producers that calls for a boycott of the state if the bill passes.

However, Kemp, a conservative, told the Journal-Constitution that he won’t be persuaded by Milano and her ilk, saying that “I can’t govern because I’m worried about what someone in Hollywood thinks about me. I ran the last two years on these issues, and I got elected with the largest number of votes in the history of the state of Georgia, and I’m doing what I told people I would do.”

Milano then went on to yesterday to defend her stance on Twitter by quoting the Bible.

Apparently, quoting a book that specifically outlaws all murder, including abortion, is somehow a way to defend the practice.

Personally, as a religious person, there’s very little that annoys me more than someone taking the Bible out of context to tendentiously promote anti-biblical nonsense.

Milano tweeted in support of “…Overrid[ing] scientific facts and what we can confirm.” Does this include “gender fluidity?” Because the only sexual division that the Bible talks about in living beings is that between male and female (See Genesis 1:27). Yet, the opposite is somehow scientifically confirmable in the world of the Left.

The Left takes the Bible out of context all the time. It’s nothing new — for example, some leftists did this during the travel ban debate by quoting Exodus 2:9, which states that “[Y]ou shall not oppress the stranger, for you know the feelings of the stranger, since you were strangers in the land of Egypt.” However, anyone who has actually studied the Bible in context knows that the “stranger” is someone who voluntarily takes on the laws of the land or someone who wants to convert to Judaism. They know it doesn’t mean that one has to accept everyone from all over the world, as I wrote here at the time.

But the Left resorts to habitually lying. As Dennis Prager is fond of saying, “truth is not a left-wing value.” The Left cares about nothing but power and its own agenda.

More proof of this is that the same people who claim to tout the Bible are the same people who rally against public mangers or Ten Commandments replicas at courthouses. These are the same people who enjoy suing Christian bakers and florists out of business.

The Left cannot honestly claim to stand for the Bible or its values. They despise what religious people stand for, including saving the lives of the unborn.

Because, in the end, the Left’s only guiding principle is controlling you. Hence, it’s easy to understand why Governor Kemp and the rest of red America couldn’t care less if these arrogant, whiny Hollywood leftists stay away from them.
