A South Carolina woman and her husband have been charged with homicide by child abuse of their adopted daughter.
Ariel Robinson, 29, and her husband, Jerry Robinson, 34, according to police, inflicted a “series of blunt force injuries” on three-year-old Victoria Smith.
Ariel Robinson won Food Network’s 20th season of “Worst Cooks in America.” The network has since pulled Robinson’s season.
According to The Blaze, the Robinsons called 911 on Jan. 15 to report that the three-year-old was unresponsive, adding, “When medical professionals arrived, they immediately suspected child abuse, according to the heavily redacted police report.”
Tiffany and Cameron Huggins, who fostered Smith before she was adopted by the Robinsons, said the child was “just our light,” with a contagious smile. The couple fostered Smith for 10 months.
“When she entered a room, all eyes were on her, because she demanded it and she was a cutie,” Tiffany told WYFF 4 News.
“They said she instantly clicked with their family,” the report added, “Her smile was contagious and she enjoyed singing and riding her bike.”
“She was just a natural,” Tiffany said. “She had the best personality and I’m not just saying that [because] I was her momma, but she was just our light. She was a beautiful child, inside and out.”
“She blended into our family,” Cameron added.
Robinson posted photos of all three of her adopted children to social media, sometimes with captions concerning “white privilege” and the radical Black Lives Matter movement.
“Look who’s hair is no longer ‘nappy!!!’ Her edges were laid and curls poppin’!!,” Robinson captioned photos of Smith with her hair done on Jan. 10. “Because like she says, ‘don’t worry, mom! you can fix it!’ And that’s just what mommy does best!”

Four days before Smith was found unresponsive, Robinson posted four photos of herself with the three-year-old. “We go together like ketchup & MUSTARD!” she captioned the photos. “Being a girl mom is awesome.”

On Jan. 6, the Food Network contestant spoke expressly about “white privilege” and the Black Lives Matter movement relative to her children. Her adopted sons, like Smith, were white.
“In my house, my black children get treated the same as my white children, and my white children get treated the same as my black children. It’s a shame that when they go out into the real world, that won’t be the case. #whiteprivilege #BlackLivesMatter,” she wrote.
“I will never have to worry about my white sons and that makes me happy,” Robinson continued. “What makes me sad is that every worry I don’t have for them will be multiplied for my black sons. Until this is fixed, we are NOT the USA we can be. Justice, fairness, & equality for all! #BlackLivesMatter.”

“It’s a shame that as a proud mom to 4 beautiful boys, I can’t protect them from the reality and evil of this world once they leave the house,” she continued. “However, I will fight and use my voice to make a difference. To bring awareness and change so that one day, that change will come.”
“I’m a Mama Bear, & I’ll do anything to protect my children & make sure their futures are equally bright bc they have the same opportunities & are treated as equals the way God made them. There should be no #whiteprivilege only American privilege. #EqualityForAll #BlackLivesMatter.”

Robinson’s website dubs herself the “Clean Queen of Comedy from Simpsonville, South Carolina.”
“She is a wife, mom, and former middle school teacher turned stand up comedian & TV personality,” the site adds.
