On Wednesday, authorities found the dead body of Christina Carlin-Kraft, a former Playboy model, in her Philadelphia condominium. The cause of death has been determined as homicide by strangulation, per the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

The 36-year-old beauty was found strangled to death in her bedroom by Lower Merion Township police officers during a routine “wellness check,” reports CBS Philly.

A neighbor told The Philadelphia Inquirer that the former model moved into the condo just last week. According to FOX 29, unnamed sources said Carlin-Kraft reported a robbery at her home on Saturday.

“There does not appear to be any current concern for residents in the area,” says a joint statement from the police superintendent and the county district attorney.

Carlin-Kraft’s family called the murder a “horror story.”

Neighbor Dave Farina told CBS Philly that’s he’s been stunned by the news.

“I’m very shocked and saddened by this homicide here. We never have that kind of thing here in Ardmore, hardly ever. It’s enough to make me cry,” said Farina, adding, “I’m pretty sure that it will be resolved because this police force is second to none and I’m praying for them to find out who did this and bring them to justice.”

The investigation into Carlin-Kraft’s murder is ongoing, as is the hunt for a suspect or suspects.

If you have any information relating to the case, authorities have asked you to contact Lower Merion Police Department at 610-649-1000 or the Montgomery County Detective Bureau at 610-278-3368.
