Over the last year, Eminem has gone all in on partisan politics, declaring war on President Trump, telling any of his fans who voted for Trump “f*** you,” and now pivoting to take aim at a new target: the NRA and gun owners.
During a performance of his song “Nowhere Fast” for the iHeartRadio Music awards at The Forum in Inglewood, California on Sunday, Eminem added a new verse slamming the NRA, the “puppet” president, and gun owners in general, whom he described as “clutching their loaded weapons” and “lov[ing] their guns more than our children.”

Eminem’s anti-gun rap was introduced by Parkland shooting survivor Alex Mascou, who slammed politicians for sending “thoughts and prayers” but “doing nothing to make the necessary changes to prevent this tragedy from happening again.” Gun control activists, including several Parkland student activists, have particularly focused their attention on the NRA, which they’ve portrayed as “basically killing children.”
The 45-year-old rapper, whose new politically charged album “Revival” debuted at No. 1 amid mixed reviews, has repeatedly focused his criticism on Trump, including performing a cypher for BET in which he portrayed Trump as a racist and condemned anyone who voted for him.
“Any fan of mine who’s a fan of his, I’m drawing in the sand a line,” he said in his BET performance in October 2017. “You either for or against, and if you can’t decide who you like more in this split, on who you should stand beside, I’ll do it for you with this: F*** you.”
Despite his near-obsessive attacks on Trump, the president has yet to respond, prompting Eminem to publicly complain that the president is ignoring him. “I was and still am extremely angry,” Eminem said in an interview in November. “I can’t stand that motherf***er. I feel like he’s not paying attention to me. I was kind of waiting for him to say something and for some reason, he didn’t say anything.”
