Ellen DeGeneres appeared to let slip the sex of Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney’s first child together, a baby who is now three months old, during “The Ellen Show” when it aired on Monday.

During the 64-year-old’s talk show, DeGeneres made a phone call to “The Hunger Games” star at her home — the superstar actress made headlines when she reportedly gave birth back in February. While on the phone, the two discussed the fact that Ellen is Lawrence’s neighbor — and the host said she can sometimes hear Lawrence talking to “him.”

“People don’t know this, but I used to live in the house that you live in now when I started the show 20 years ago,” the talk show host shared.

“Now I live next door to you, and I’m looking at you living in my house with a brand-new baby,” she added. “By the way, I do hear you sometimes talking to him.”

DeGeneres called Lawrence’s conversations with her baby “really cute.”

“I can hear you go, ‘I know!'” the host explained. “It’s so sweet.”

The 31-year-old actress has yet to speak publicly about her pregnancy or motherhood, other than a brief comment she made to Vanity Fair in November 2021 when she made it clear that when it comes to her kid, it’s going to be a private matter.

“If I was at a dinner party, and somebody was like, ‘Oh, my God, you’re expecting a baby,’ I wouldn’t be like, ‘God, I can’t talk about that. Get away from me, you psycho!'” the “Red Sparrow” star said at the time. “But every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can.”

In 2018, reports first surfaced that Lawrence and Maroney were dating and a year later the two got engaged. Eight months later the couple tied the knot at a ceremony in Rhode Island.

The host of “The Ellen Show” noted during her discussion with Lawrence that her daytime show is winding down and will officially come to an end this week. The final episode is set to air Thursday May 26. It will mark the conclusion of nearly two decades of the popular daytime show lead by the comedian and actress.
