On Wednesday, former NYC mayor and President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani seemingly overshared on the circus of a situation concerning porn star Stormy Daniels, who claims she had consensual sex with the president in 2006 when he was married to Melania.
At a conference in Israel, Giuliani suggested that he had intimate knowledge of the first lady’s take on the matter, saying she “believes” Trump over Ms. Daniels. “She believes her husband,” stated Giuliani. “And she knows it’s untrue.”
Publicly, though, Mrs. Trump has been completely silent on the matter, and she also apparently never gave Giuliani any insight on her thoughts concerning the alleged affair, either.
On Thursday, a spokeswoman for the first lady responded with a cryptic, simple statement to CNN. “I don’t believe Mrs. Trump has ever discussed her thoughts on anything with Mr. Giuliani,” said Stephanie Grisham.
The rebuttal of Mr. Guiliani’s claim, however, has not phased him. “I don’t regret saying it because I believe it,” he later told CNN, adding, “Yes I believe that [Melania] knows him well enough to know this one is — what’s the word, fakakta?”
“I’ve never interviewed Melania, there is no reason to,” he continued. “I took it [Melania Trump’s statement] as she didn’t want to get involved and get called as a witness or anything like that.”
While at the conference, Giuliani also took heat for his disparaging remarks about Daniels’ appearance and her work in the adult film industry.
“Yes I respect porn stars. Don’t you respect porn stars? Or do you think that porn stars desecrate women? Do you think that porn stars don’t respect women?” he said. “And therefore sell their bodies. So yes, I respect all human beings. I even have to respect, you know, criminals. But I’m sorry I don’t respect a porn star the way I respect a career woman or a woman of substance or a woman who has great respect for herself as a woman and as a person and isn’t going to sell her body for sexual exploitation.”
“Someone who sells his or her body for money has no good name,” he added.
