The internet won today.
During a press conference Monday, Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) said she wants “Fearless Girl” to ring the bell at the New York Stock Exchange:
“We have also requested from the iconic New York Stock Exchange to have the Fearless Girl ring the bell at an appropriate time.”
There’s one problem, but it’s a pretty big one: “Fearless Girl” is a statue. Maloney later clarified how such a magical thing would work:
.@RepMaloney‘s idea of how Fearless Girl ringing Wall St. bull would work: a group of women leaders & a little girl dressed as statue do it.

Despite Maloney’s clarification, Twitter had better ideas:
@erinmdurkin @RepMaloney I suppose you could tip it over near the bell, so the impact would ring it.

@erinmdurkin @RepMaloney Are we sure she’s not a little boy? Maybe someone should ask and not assume just because she is wearing a dress!!

Note: Fearless Girl is not an actual girl. https://t.co/DBLZSroDLG

@jtLOL “First she insists we carry her all the way up here and now she just stands there”

@jtLOL Does this story end with the burning down of a haunted statue factory in Mexico?

Have Geppetto summon the Blue Fairy! Ring that bell, Fearless Girl.
