Country star Zach Bryan fulfilled a promise he made to his late mom, Annette DeAnn Bryan, when he finally earned his Bachelor’s degree after his education took a back seat to his music career.
The 27-year-old country music singer recently celebrated getting his degree in psychology while still headlining and performing at venues across the country and working on albums, the Tennessean reported.
“Got my bachelors yesterday after exams in the desert and green rooms to about a hundred different venues,” Bryan wrote on X.
“No arrogance attached just a promise I made my mom a long while back,” he added. “Bound to be a good week guys.”

Bryan enrolled in the Navy at age 17 and later jumped completely into making his dream of becoming a singer a reality, putting his schooling on the back burner.
In a video later posted on TikTok from Bryan’s girlfriend, the singer can be seen backstage at his last show at a surprise graduation ceremony with Bryan wearing a cap and gown and clearly in a celebratory mood. It is unclear from what school he got the degree.

The “Heading South” hitmaker previously shared a heartbreaking post following his mom’s death in August 2016.
“My mom was my best friend, I would call her every morning at 6 am on my way to work, and she would call me every night after my workout and ask, ‘well how many miles did you run today?'” Bryan wrote at the time.
“She knew me better than I knew myself, and better than anyone will ever know me,” he added. “She has kept me out of a lot of trouble and she was always my shelter from the rain. There are plenty of cliches I could say, and a mile long list of reasons I loved her but I will spare the novel.”
“A beautiful woman, with a beautiful heart full of kind words and smiles she gladly shared with me,” the singer continued. “Every memory, and every moment is embedded in my soul. Rest in peace to my best friend, and to the woman who taught me how to hug. I will love you from afar until the day we can do this again.”
