Ahmed Mohamed, the 14 year-old kid who was suspended for bringing a clock to school that looked very much like bomb, met with Sudan’s brutal dictator who is wanted for international war crimes.
Sudan President Omar al-Bashir decided to meet with Ahmed and his family because he liked Mohamed’s “scientific interest and encouraged his pursuits.” Ahmed was very happy to meet with al-Bashir, saying he was “extremely delighted” and wanted to meet with him again.
Ahmed may or may not be aware that al-Bashir is a horrifically brutal dictator. Al-Bashir is wanted by the International Criminal Court for the following crimes: (emphasis mine)
Genocide
•Killing members of the Fur, Masalit and Zaghawa ethnic groups
•Causing these groups serious bodily or mental harm
•Inflicting conditions of life calculated to bring about these groups’ physical destruction
Crimes against humanity
•Murder
•Extermination
•Forcible transfer
•Rape
•Torture
War crimes
•Attacks on civilians in Darfur
•Pillaging towns and villages
The charges largely stem from al-Bashir using the Arab militia known as the “Janjaweed” to attack and destroy villages of tribes which supplied rebel fighters against al-Bashir’s government. The Janjaweed has committed numerous acts of rape against women and forced many innocent civilians into refugee camps.
Ahmed was very happy to meet with al-Bashir, saying he was “extremely delighted” and wanted to meet with him again.
Al-Bashir is also accused of stealing $9 billion in oil money.
In addition, al-Bashir has also imposed Sharia law on the country that sentenced a woman to death by stoning for allegedly giving birth to a baby that wasn’t fathered by her husband and sentenced another woman to death by hanging for apostasy. Al-Bashir also harbored Osama bin Laden for five years in 1990s.
Sudan is one of only three countries to be listed as state sponsors of terror on the State Department’s website. The other two countries are Syria and Iran. Keep in mind that North Korea isn’t on this list and Sudan is.
Ironically, Ahmed’s father, a 9/11 Truther who said that the clock incident will “spread Islam,” has twice run against al-Bashir for president of Sudan and has accused al-Bashir of rigging the elections. There was reportedly no animosity between the two men when al-Bashir met with the Ahmed and his father.
President Barack Obama reportedly won’t be meeting with Ahmed one-on-one when the clock kid visits the White House on Monday to promote astronomy, even though he tweeted this:
Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It’s what makes America great.

On Sunday, the Council for American Islamic-Relations (which has ties to Hamas) gave Ahmed the “American Muslim of the Year” award. Apparently CAIR’s award doesn’t exclude those who are happy to meet with brutal dictators.
