Leadership at Capital One sent out an email to its nearly 52,000 employees condemning systemic racism in America following the conviction of police officer Derek Chauvin in the killing of George Floyd.

In an internal email obtained by The Daily Wire, Rolddy Levya, the company’s vice president of diversity, inclusion, and belonging said that justice will not be reached until “systemic racism is dismantled.”

Part of the email read:

We stand in solidarity with George Floyd’s family, with our Black associates and communities, and with all those who agree that justice belongs to everyone, everywhere. We know that this decision does not erase the pain, anger, and frustration many of you are feeling. The intersection of race and law enforcement has had a long, fraught history. One that cannot be solved by a single verdict. True justice won’t arrive until systemic racism is dismantled and we are able to repair the centuries of harm inflicted on communities of color.

In a later paragraph, Levya wrote that “Since George Floyd’s death on May 25th of last year, the Black community has dealt with the added trauma of more killings by police – more than 180 in the U.S. alone.”

This data point appears to include all black people who were killed by law enforcement, regardless of whether the officer was justified in their use of force. According to The Washington Post’s police shootings database, in 2020 243 black people were killed by law enforcement, 164 had a gun at the time of their death, and 18 were unarmed. So far in 2021, 60 black people have been killed, 47 of whom were armed, and only four of whom were unarmed. That’s 22 unarmed black people over the past year and a half.

Levya says he is “all in” on diversity, inclusion, and belonging in the workplace. In an article for the company’s career page, Levya details the importance of diversity in his personal story as a gay, Latino man.

“What I find most rewarding about my role … is the opportunity to bring people from across the full spectrum of diversity together in an inclusive workplace where everyone feels safe to live their truth, bring their best, most authentic selves to work, and achieve their full potential,” Levya wrote.

A Capital One employee, who spoke to The Daily Wire on the condition of anonymity for fear of retribution, said that the push for workplace inclusivity ironically excludes those who do not believe in left-wing political dogma. The employee described his workplace as “no humor, no fun, and a constant tension not wanting to get fired.”

Capital One did not respond to requests for comment.

Capital One is among the many corporations that have adopted “anti-racism” messaging following the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement. Deloitte, one of the world’s largest accounting firms, instituted an “anti-racist” culture wherein employees were told that unintentional “microaggressions” are considered a punishable offense.

Morgan Stanley, one of the nation’s top investment banking firms, is requesting that employees fulfill a “diversity quota” in the job application process in the name of “anti-racism.” The ideology has made its way to health insurance as well. Cigna has allegedly told employees not to hire white men as part of the company’s broader “anti-racism” campaign.
