Blue On Blue Violence: Leftwing Buzzfeed Declares The Guardian Dead

   DailyWire.com

Except for the parts about winning a Pulitzer and some sexual harassment allegation, the opening lines of BuzzFeed’s obituary that declares the Guardian dead could easily apply to BuzzFeed:

The Guardian’s US newsroom didn’t become the voice of the Bernie left during the election. It didn’t break huge campaign scoops. Years after winning a Pulitzer for the Edward Snowden story, Guardian US has slashed costs, leaving employees stewing about mismanagement, infighting, a sexual harassment allegation, and unrealistic business expectations.

Over the past year, BuzzFeed has lost all kinds of top staffers and there has been plenty of plagiarism over in Listicle Hell. Oh, and BuzzFeed’s fake news machine has been working overtime, working so hard in fact that BuzzFeed is being sued for Fake News.

Here is another part of BuzzFeed’s attack on the Guardian that could be written about BuzzFeed:

“When you look at the 2016 election, how many stories did the Guardian break? How many stories did the Guardian own? The Guardian was always where other people were,” said a former employee.

And yet, in the grand tradition of BuzzFeed hiding the truth, four paragraphs down you discover that the Guardian actually did do what BuzzFeed did not in 2016, break some stories that had an actual impact…

Reporters say editors failed to stress digging further into the original stories that actually did generate mainstream attention, like one by columnist Lucia Graves interviewing Jill Harth, who spoke out about alleged groping by Donald Trump. Or a scoop from Jon Swaine, Lauren Gambino, and Richard Luscombe that revealed Steve Bannon had an active voter registration in Florida. Guardian stories about things like the Flint water crisis or Standing Rock didn’t receive much internal support from management, rankling reporters.

If you really want to know the terrible state BuzzFeed is in, this 5000+ word attack on a leftwing competitor has received exactly twelve comments. Twelve.

So what is really going on here?

Well, BuzzFeed excels at finding the disgruntled within media organizations as a means to write inside-baseball stories no one with an actual life cares about. Even as BuzzFeed bleeds its own top talent, competes with CNN for the Fake News trophy, and is now 5 years past having any kind of impact whatsoever on America’s electoral process, rather than improve their terrible selves, editor-in-chief Ben Smith, a virulently dishonest Leftist, snipes and hurls poo at his Betters.

And if for no other reason than it does not disguise its left-wing agenda and sometimes gave Smith’s precious Barry a legitimately difficult time, The Guardian is superior to BuzzFeed.
