Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) ripped the odious alt-right leader Richard Spencer in an epic rant on Twitter against the neo-Nazi.
It all started when Sasse tweeted out an article claiming that the Russians used the Internet to increase division among Americans on the issue of NFL anthem protests:
Spencer decided to snarkily respond to Sasse by bloviating, “In the minds of goober conservatives, Russians are to blame for racial divisions.”
The contemptible figure picked a fight with the wrong person, because Sasse proceeded to unload on him in a massive Twitter thread:

Spencer is going to need a lot of time to recover from all the burns received from Sasse’s tweetstorm. But Sasse’s Twitter thread is instructive because it does show how the alt-right is antithetical to conservatism.
As outlined here and here, the alt-right is based on the notion of white identity politics and how race and culture are intertwined. To believe this, you have to reject the nation’s founding principles of eternal truths, inalienable rights and individual liberty. Individualism and identity politics cannot mix together.
Props to Sasse to providing an epic smackdown of Spencer. Conservatives should follow Sasse’s example.
