Well, in today’s Hollywood Reporter we find the uplifting story of the day: UTA SCRAPS OSCAR PARTY IN FAVOR OF REFUGEE RALLY.
United Talent Agency is donating $250,000 – that’s a lot of money to people who do not represent multi-million dollar talent – to the American Civil Liberties Union, so that they can use the money to fight the Muslim ban that is not a ban on Muslims, and to oppose Trumphitler’s anti-immigration policies that do not affect any actual immigrants.
No doubt stars and Hollywood execs and agents and all the rest will turn up at the Refugee Rally they have planned for February 24, right before this year’s Oscar party, where the most talented writers, directors, actors and all the rest will gather to congratulate themselves and also give America what it so desperately needs: moral sermonizing from the most immoral people on Planet Earth.
You know who will not be making an appearance at the Refugee Rally?
Refugees, that’s who. Oh sure, they might cherry pick some camera-ready background players – those would be “extras” to those of you who live in the United States – to stand around looking sad and grateful, but the one limo that will not pull up at the Refugee Rally will be the super-stretched Town Car containing the hundreds of thousands of military-aged, single men who have been crashing the party in Germany. And France. And Belgium. And Italy. And Great Britain. And Greece. And Austria. And Hungary. And so on.
This is how Hollywood works, and it is the same that all of these self-congratulatory, hollow leftist gestures work; the working title of which is BASED ON A TRUE STORY.
What does that mean, exactly? Well, it means that if there is a country called Syria, let’s say, and we want to construct any fantasy we want about “Syria” and tell you that this lie is the truth because it is BASED ON A TRUE STORY.

Mr. Iger – may I call you Bob? Thanks, Bobby.
Bobby, baby – there is not, has not been, and never will be a “ban on immigration.” So saying something like that is not inspiring. It’s lying, Bobby, and that’s bad for box office biz because we notice you do a lot of this kind of thing: these unvetted, innocents and terrorists must be welcomed into America – you know, your town — but The Beverly Hilton? I don’t think so, no.
What I care about is actually preventing another Orlando. Or San Bernardino. Or Brussels. Or Paris. Or Fort Hood. Or Beslan.
I don’t care what an actor says about something he knows nothing about. It’s just another script he is reading and another character she is playing. What I care about is actually preventing another Orlando. Or San Bernardino. Or Brussels. Or Paris. Or Fort Hood. Or Beslan.
