All Class: Laura Bush’s Sweet Message To Melania Trump

   DailyWire.com

A day before former President George H.W. Bush was laid to rest, former First Lady Laura Bush and Bush family members were hosted by First Lady Melania Trump at the White House, touring the much-discussed Christmas decor. Mrs. Bush was quick to thank Mrs. Trump for the “sweet visit during this somber week.”

“Thanks to Mrs. Trump for inviting our family to the White House to see the Christmas decorations and our old friends, the residence staff,” wrote the former First Lady, posting two photos from the visit.

One of the photos featured a gathering of Bushes in front of a White House portrait, draped in black cloth, of the late George H.W. Bush.

“Looking forward to being with the wonderful Bush family at Blair House today,” President Donald Trump posted in preparation for the visit. “The former First Lady will be coming over to the White House this morning to be given a tour of the Christmas decorations by Melania. The elegance & precision of the last two days have been remarkable!”

Stephanie Grisham, the First Lady’s spokeswoman, said the visit was closed off to the press and photographers, though photos of the visit have been floating around the Internet.

Following the visit, the Trumps and the Bushes greeted one another in a warm exchange outside the presidential guest house, Blair House (video below).

Mrs. Bush and Mrs. Trump have a much warmer relationship than what is perceived to be an essentially nonexistent relationship between the current FLOTUS and her predecessor, Michelle Obama.

In April, Mrs. Bush and Mrs. Trump shared tea together at the White House. Additionally, Mrs. Bush had nothing but warm wishes and kind words to say about the current First Lady during an interview with CNN in November of 2017.

“I just think she’s done a lovely job,” Mrs. Bush said of Mrs. Trump. “She’s a beautiful woman. She’s a wonderful representative for the United States.”

Last month, former First Lady Obama said she extended an invitation to help Mrs. Trump if she ever needed advice, but has yet to hear from her. The Washington Examiner reports:

Michelle Obama said first lady Melania Trump has never reached out to her for advice, even after Obama extended an invitation as her predecessor Laura Bush did.

Obama told ABC News in an interview that aired Sunday that Trump has not asked for any help since the Obamas left the White House in January 2017.

“No, she hasn’t,” Obama said when asked if Trump reached out to her at all.

Grisham swatted away any criticism of Mrs. Trump, stating, “Mrs. Trump is a strong and independent woman who has been navigating her role as first lady in her own way. When she needs advice on any issue, she seeks it from her professional team within the White House.”

Twice-failed presidential candidate and former First Lady Hillary appeared to snub Mrs. Trump at the Bush funeral on Wednesday.
