Abortion Clinic Tells Black Women ‘Abortion Is Necessary’

   DailyWire.com

“Abortion is necessary” for black women, apparently, according to a billboard campaign at an abortion clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Planned Parenthood agrees.

According to LifeNews, the Preterm abortion clinic is “pushing a billboard campaign only in majority-black neighborhoods, lending additional credence to the notion that abortion clinics specifically focus on selling abortions to black women and aborting black babies.”

Studies show that abortion clinics (not coincidentally) persist in predominantly minority neighborhoods.

The campaign displays 16 billboards throughout Cleveland. On each display the caption “Abortion is …” is followed by a set of different phrases, such as “a parenting decision,” “a blessing,” “liberty” and “your right.”

Other phrases include “life-saving,” “necessary” and “a second chance.”

Writing for Townhall, Matt Vespa noted how the signs appear to have miraculously landed in the neighborhoods of black Americans:

Over at RedState, Jennifer Van Laar had a rather disturbing post coming out of Ohio. There appears to be a campaign from an abortion provider, Preterm, that is specifically targeting the black community in Cleveland. Van Laar cited local residents who took photos of the billboards. Some doulas have called the campaign racist, with the outrage becoming loud enough that members of the city council have reached out to Preterm to have a conservation with their executive’s leadership about the controversy. The signs read, ‘abortion is good medicine’ and ‘abortion is necessary.’

Cleveland radio host Darvio Morrow, a black man, also noticed the inherent racism. “They are outright targeting black people and trying to put a happy face on abortion. I am appalled by this,” he said.

According to LifeNews, “Research by Protecting Black Life found that 79 percent of Planned Parenthood surgical abortion facilities are located within walking distance of black and Latino neighborhoods.”

Currently, black Americans make up 13% of the U.S. population while undergoing 30% of the nation’s abortions.

In 2017, Planned Parenthood also came under fire when their affiliate “PP Black Community” tweeted that abortion was statistically safer for black women than pregnancy.
