A$AP Rocky’s Attorney Shot in Stockholm

A Swedish attorney who represented American rapper A$AP Rocky after he was arrested for assault in July has been shot.

The Daily Mail reported that Henrik Olsson Lilja was shot leaving his apartment building in Stockholm, Sweden, Friday morning in what is being called an “ambush attack.” From the Mail:

Henrik Olsson Lilja was leaving his apartment building in downtown Stockholm shortly before nine this morning when a gunman approached and shot him.

Neighbors saw a person wrestle the lawyer in a stairwell, before the shooting and gave Olsson Lilja a phone to call the police, who have since arrested several suspects.

A woman, also a senior lawyer, who was previously banned from contacting Olsson Lilja is among those arrested, but the shooter has been identified as a man.

“One person has been arrested as a suspect for the attempted murder attempt” a spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office said.

The gunman then jumped into a waiting SUV and left the scene. He has still not been arrested.

The female attorney is suspected “of instigating attempted murder,” CBS News reported.

Olsson Lilja is a prominent attorney in Sweden and it is unclear at this time whether the attack had anything to do with Rocky’s recent assault charges in the country.

The attorney is reportedly in stable but serious condition after he was shot in the head and chest, the Mail reported.

Olsson Lilja represented Rocky after the rapper was arrested in July for assault along with members of his entourage. Footage reported by TMZ initially showed Rocky throwing a man to the ground. Instagram videos uploaded by Rocky himself that same day showed that two men had been following the rapper and his entourage for blocks before the attack. Rocky’s bodyguard repeatedly told the men to stop following them. At one point, one of the men smashed his headphones against Rocky’s bodyguard. The men then followed them and demanded they replace the headphones.

After a woman said one of the two men grabbed her anatomy, Rocky and his entourage reportedly got into an altercation, resulting in one of the men who had been following Rocky ending up injured.

Rocky was arrested and spent two months in jail. President Donald Trump even tried to intervene on the rapper’s behalf.

In the end, Rocky was found guilty of assault but served no additional jail time.

“All three defendants are convicted of assault and sentenced to conditional sentences. The court finds that the defendants were not in a situation where they were entitled to self-defense and that they assaulted the victim by hitting and kicking him,” the court said in a press release. “However, it has not been proven that the defendants hit the victim in the head with a bottle or assaulted him with whole or broken bottles. The victim was awarded damages for violation of his integrity and pain and suffering, but less than he requested. The defendants, each based on their financial ability, repay the state for its expenses for public legal counseling.”
