The Dennis Prager/Adam Carolla documentary "No Safe Spaces," which chronicles the academic Left's politically correct war to silence free speech on college campuses, released a new preview featuring conservative talk show host Dave Rubin warning liberals that the leftist mob will come to claim their heads if they ever show a hint of individuality.
In the clip, Rubin is seen speaking with Dennis Prager on the set of his show "The Rubin Report," during which he points out that free speech controversies on college campuses typically revolve around a liberal professor who makes one statement in disagreement with leftist heterodoxy and suffers serious professional repercussions for it.
"There is a reason that every time one of these professors, or T.A.s, whether its Lindsay Shephard in Canada or Bret Weinstein in Washington, why are they all lefties who then say one thing that upsets the Left and they’re purged?" Rubin says in the clip.
The noted libertarian goes on to warn liberals who disagree with his assessment that they will suffer the same fate if they ever stray from the leftist pack. "It will come for you," he says. "If there is someone watching this right now that is a hardcore progressive, that’s going, 'man, I hate Prager and Rubin, and this is all nonsense,' guess what, if you have any spark of individualism in you, if you have anything about you that’s interesting or different, they will destroy that, too."
The push to make "No Safe Spaces" a reality has been ongoing since 2017, when Dennis Prager and Adam Carolla started an Indiegogo campaign to crowdfund the documentary. It raised $684,684. Much of the documentary will focus on Prager and Carolla traveling to various college campuses, exploring the systematic crackdown on free speech.
"Entitled snowflakes on college campuses raging and screaming every time they encounter an idea they disagree with," reads the film's Indiegogo page. "These stories might be somewhat amusing if they weren’t such a dangerous indication of what’s to come. Trigger warnings, micro-aggressions, the suppression of free speech, and other illogical ideas born on campuses are proliferating and spreading out into the real world."
"Today’s campus snowflake is tomorrow’s teacher, judge, or elected official," it continues. "And if that doesn’t scare you, maybe you should reconsider. No matter where you live or what you do, if you don’t think they way they do, they will attempt to silence and punish you."
Recently, Facebook prevented a California charter school from advertising about a screening hosted by Dave Rubin on their platform because the school administrator's refused to identify as partisan.
"They asked me a bunch of personal questions, then said I’d need to identify as a political entity, even though the ad doesn’t mention a party or a politician and takes no political stance whatsoever," said Acton Placer Academy's CEO Matt Beaudreau. "Facebook said if we don’t disclose a political affiliation, the ads won’t run. But we’re a nonpartisan school. We’re not a political entity. We’re not going to do that. We have as many parents who are Democrats as we have who are Republicans. The whole purpose of the event is to show that people can put politics aside and have civil debate."
Dennis Prager said Facebook's decision represents just another example of the Left undermining free speech.
"Unlike liberals, who always valued and fought to protect free speech, leftists have never valued free speech," Prager told THR. "And the left controls the avenues of information on the Internet. That’s what this is about."
