Following the first Democratic debate on Wednesday night, left-wing propagandist filmmaker Michael Moore is celebrating the fact that the age of sensible, moderate Democrats may finally be over.
"My headline: 'Democratic Candidates Jostle to Out-Bernie Bernie at Miami Debate,'" Moore said on Twitter. "This was the first time in my life I’ve watched Democrats fight to be more progressive than the other Dems. The old Dem Party hopefully is dead & this one must appeal to youth, ppl of color & women."
"De Blasio wins the first half hour. No one predicted that," Moore tweeted during the debate. "Shameful that only he and Sen. Warren raised their hands when they were all asked if they would get rid of private, profit-making health insurance companies. Greed is the enemy. 8 of the 10 don’t want to say that."
"One thing you know about Elizabeth Warren is that she has no interest in enriching herself," he said in another tweet. "She is out to make the wealthy pay for the wreckage they’ve caused. And she refuses to be pitted against Bernie. Tonight she praised him."
Elizabeth Warren's path to victory in 2020 may be extremely difficult if she maintains her position on abolishing all private health insurance, a position that a majority of Americans oppose. From The Hill:
A new poll finds that about only one in 10 registered voters want the equivalent of Medicare for all if it means abolishing private health insurance plans.
In a Hill-HarrisX survey released Thursday, 13 percent of respondents said they would prefer a health care system that covers all citizens and doesn't allow for private plans, an approach that is sometimes referred to as "single-payer."
The most popular option, at 32 percent, consisted of a universal, government-operated system that also would allow people to buy private, supplemental insurance.
Twenty-six percent of respondents said they wanted a government insurance plan offered to all citizens, but one that doesn't compel people with private plans to use it, a system sometimes called a "public option."
Moore has been urging Democrats throughout this year to cast aside all moderate positions and embrace the radical left agenda.
"If you’re being moderate, stop being moderate. Take a position,” Moore said in February on MSNBC. "There’s no middle ground anymore. There’s no halfway point to should somebody be paid a living wage. You know, on the issue of choice, there is no halfway there. You’re either for it or you’re against it. Do you believe in equal rights for women? Do you believe we should have an Equal Rights Amendment? There’s no middle ground. There’s no time for moderation."
