WATCH: Elizabeth Warren Mocks Friendship Between Trump And Netanyahu

In an excerpt from an interview he conducted with Massachusetts senator and presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren, Pod Save America host Tommy Vietor and Warren engaged in sniping at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Trump, mocking them for the obvious friendship the two men share.

Vietor prompted the nastiness by asking, “When I look at Israel, I look at Bibi Netanyahu putting up campaign signs that feature big photos of him and President Trump. This weekend, he released a TV ad attacking his opponent, Benny Gantz, accusing him of colluding with Obama behind his back, and it had this like, grainy, darkened image of Obama, and I’m just wondering does it worry you that such a close ally has fully aligned with one political party, the Republican Party?”

Warren responded, “Yes, that’s what I was talking about, the difference between the administrations. Yes, and honestly, I don’t think this is good for Israel. I mean, I think this is terrible for Israel and that that’s the direction he’s going. Of course, also remember, he’s under investigation, others in his administration, in his family —“

Vietor mocked, “Are we talking about Netanyahu or Trump?”

Warren pretended seriousness: “Oh, I’m sorry, which one were we talking about? Yeah, sentence applies in both places, doesn’t it? But I think that is part of the point; Trump is not forever and neither is Netanyahu.”

Trump is not under investigation.

Why Israel should even consider aligning itself with the Democratic Party, which harbors open-Semites such as Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-NY) is anyone’s guess; why Israel should consider the same party that pushed for the Iran nuclear deal, which Warren also voted for, a deal which did nothing to stop Iran’s existential threat to the Jewish state and in fact, may well have expedited it, is anyone’s guess.

To make matters worse, on February 16 the Democratic National Committee adopted a motion urging the U.S. to rejoin the Iran nuclear deal, according to a text of the resolution obtained by The Times of Israel. The document stated:

The United States should return to its obligations under the JCPOA and utilize multilateral and bilateral diplomacy to achieve political solutions to remaining challenges regarding Iran … The JCPOA has delivered substantial nonproliferation benefits, including Iran slashing its enriched uranium stockpile by 97% to less than 300 kilograms and the IAEA instituting the world’s strongest nuclear verification regime in Iran …The JCPOA is a key nonproliferation achievement that guards against Iran developing nuclear weapons and is of central importance to American security. Returning to the JCPOA will restore America’s commitment to an agreement made with allies and prevent a renewed nuclear crisis in the Middle East.

The Democrats have long since abandoned any pretense that they truly care about anti-Semitism. As Andrew Stein, a Democrat who served on the New York City Council and in the New York state Assembly, stated:

As a lifelong Democrat, I’ve always been proud of my party’s opposition to anti-Semitism and all other forms of religious and ethnic hatred, and of our support for the Jewish state of Israel – the only true democracy in the Middle East and a staunch U.S. ally. Unfortunately, three radical Democrats who joined the U.S. House of Representatives in January have rejected this Democratic tradition and have instead embraced the evil of anti-Semitism and demonized Israel by parroting the lies of Israel’s enemies. The three are Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York. I am beyond concerned that the party I belong to is not just devolving, but unrecognizable in the face of these freshman representatives. The three have demonstrated repeatedly their hatred of Israel in an increasingly disturbing pattern of anti-Semitism.

Apologies are no longer enough. That is why I am calling on my fellow Jews to join me in pulling our support from the Democratic Party. Today President Trump and Republicans have become the true friends of Israel and the Jewish people. By moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel to its eternal capital of Jerusalem and supporting Israel’s legitimate security needs against Palestinian terrorism, the president has embraced values that were once embraced by the Democratic Party.

A Pew poll from early 2018 showed 27% of Democrats sympathize with Israel more than Palestinians, 79% of Republicans sympathized more with Israel.
