In a video he posted on social media that has since gone viral, rapper Snoop Dogg blamed the partial government shutdown on President Trump and said anyone in the federal government who continues to support him are "stupid motherf***ers." As for "everybody down with Donald Trump," the performer had the same message he directed to the president: "F*** you."
"I just want to say this real quick, now no political sh**. All you people for the federal government that ... not getting paid right now, ain’t no f***ing way in the world y’all can vote for Donald Trump when he come back up again. If y’all do vote for him, y'all some stupid motherf***ers," said Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr.
"I'm saying that to ya'll early," he continued. "All you federal government people that's not being paid, that's being treated f***ing unfairly right now — that's so terrible. And this punk motherf***er don't care. So I'm saying that to say this: When the sh** get back on and ya'll get ya'll jobs back and it's time to vote. Don’t vote for that n*****. Please don’t. Look what he do. He just don't give a f***. Ya'll honest, blue-collar, hard-working people — and suffering. So if he don't care about ya'll, he really don't give a f*** about us. So f*** him, too. And f*** everybody down with Donald Trump, I said it yeah. Snoop Dogg, n*****. F*** him."
Here's the video that's since spread all over Twitter (h/t Twitchy):
The rapper has received overwhelming praise for his "effective" communication and "speaking truth to treason." Some are even jokingly(?) offering him up as candidate for 2020. A few examples:
A few people have noted that President Obama once similarly forced a government shutdown over Obamacare — which the media largely blamed on Republicans. But Trump critics said that was different because building a wall is "racist."
This isn' the first time Snoop Dogg has issued an F-bomb-filled message to Trump. Back in November in Lafayette Square outside the White House, the rapper, while seemingly smoking marijuana, said "f*** the president."
In the video, which has since been pulled, Dogg was first seen riding in the back seat of a car driving down 16th Street and turning onto H Street, as reported by The Daily Wire's Joseph Curl.
"There go the White House right there, huh? All them motherf***ers are Secret Service, huh? Wish I could get out and take a picture right now, but you can't park, huh," he said. Turning to his driver, he said, "F*** it, let me out, n****. Let me get a picture. Snoop Dogg, f*** the president."
The video then cut to him at a park, where he takes a seat at a bench and began "smoking."
"I'm at the White House smoking," he said. "F*** the president," Broadus says again. After bragging to a fan that he's "blowing like a Rolling Stone," Snoop said, again, "F*** the president."
The rapper has also taken aim at fellow musician Kanye West for supporting Trump. In an Instagram post in fall by his producer Pooh, in response to a picture of West wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat with the caption “MAGA – Music Ain’t Getting Attention," Snoop wrote, "Make ya music great again n****. Uncle Tom. Ass n****." In a radio interview a month earlier, Snoop criticized West and suggested that anyone who supports Trump is "racist."
