On Thursday, Florida Senator Marco Rubio sounded the alarm over potential voting law violations in Broward County and Palm Beach County, two "Democrat strongholds" in Florida, which were still counting early voting and vote-by-mail ballots two days after the election, despite Florida law requiring counties to report within 30 minutes of the polls closing. He has since provided evidence of problematic handling of ballots, particularly in Broward County, that point to potential violations of voting laws and alarming incompetence.

Florida's two biggest contests, the gubernatorial race between Republican Ron DeSantis and Democrat Andrew Gillum and the senatorial race between Republican Rick Scott and incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson, have now gone into recounts, with both Republicans holding narrow leads. But two days after the election,Broward and Palm Beach were "still counting & refusing to disclose how many ballots they have left to count," Rubio noted.

The Broward County supervisor of elections, wrote Rubio, "says she doesn’t know how many ballots are left to be counted [and] isn’t reporting hourly or regularly, but rather releasing thousands of additional votes, often in the overnight hours, that are chipping away at GOP lead," wrote Rubio. "Now Democrat lawyers are descending on Florida. They have been very clear they aren’t here to make sure every vote is counted. They are here to change the results of election, [and] Broward is where they plan to do it."

Rubio's warnings began early Thursday; over the course of the day he provided more evidence of troubling activity in Broward County. Below is the complete series of statements, images and video Rubio has posted thus far, starting with some of his more recent tweets.

Late Tuesday, President Trump tweeted that law enforcement is "looking into another big corruption scandal having to do with Election Fraud in #Broward and Palm Beach."

Trump's tweet follows reports that Scott and the NRSC are filing lawsuits against both Broward and Palm Beach. "In his lawsuit against Broward County, Scott and the National Republican Senatorial Committeee (NRSC) allege that officials there are continuing to hide critical information about the number of votes cast and counted," Fox News reports. "And in a parallel suit against Palm Beach County, Scott and the NRSC charge that the election supervisor illegally used her own judgment to determine voter intent when reviewing damaged absentee ballots."

Long but IMPORTANT THREA[D] ON ELECTIONS IN FLORIDA. Bay County was hit by a Cat 4 Hurricane just 4 weeks ago,yet managed to count votes & submit timely results. Yet over 41 hours after polls closed Broward elections office is still counting votes?

Broward supervisor: - says she doesn’t know how many ballots are left to be counted; & - Isn’t reporting hourly or regularly, but rather releasing thousands of additional votes, often in the overnight hours, that are chipping away at GOP leads.

A court found they improperly handled votes by mail:https://t.co/NOE6qdbWly Court found they destroyed ballots in 2016 in violation of state & federal law:https://t.co/ywP8qE46J5.

Now democrat lawyers are descending on Florida. They have been very clear they aren’t here to make sure every vote is counted. - They are here to change the results of election; & - Broward is where they plan to do it.

A U.S. Senate seat & a statewide cabinet officer are now potentially in the hands of an elections supervisor with a history of incompetence & of blatant violations of state & federal law. Read Here: https://t.co/empQvOOgEb

Broward election supervisors ongoing violation of Florida law requiring timely reporting isn’t just annoying incompetence. It has opened the door for lawyers to come here & try to steal a seat in the U.S. Senate & Florida Cabinet.

Florida law requires counties report early voting & vote-by-mail within 30 minutes after polls close. 43 hours after polls closed 2 Democrat strongholds Broward County & Palm Beach County are still counting & refusing to disclose how many ballots they have left to count.

Latest ballots dumped by Broward &/or Palm Beach flipped Ag Comm race to Dem & shaved another 4k+ from Scott’s lead in Senate race. Since 3am Wed slow drip from these 2 Dem controlled counties cut Scott lead from 54 to 17K. And they refuse to disclose # of ballots they have left.

What’s happening in Broward County happened just last August, albeit on a smaller scale. 9000 votes arrived in mail just before 7pm Election Day. Few days later incumbent school board member avoids runoff against @rpetty & a judge won by just 400 votes https://t.co/zUn7JszUMg

Apparently Broward County elections left behind a box labeled “Provisional Ballots” at a local elementary school that served as a polling place. Just let that sink in for a moment. https://t.co/o1Gn7mxOzG

This report comes from reporter at South Florida Sun-Sentinel reporting from the Broward Elections office. https://t.co/Hy9DiIIwIh

This video, posted by an Independent Cong candidate in 18 (who was endorsed by Bernie Sanders in 16) purports to show BrowardCounty ballots being transported from polling places in private cars. Has anyone in local media looked into this claim or asked elections dept about it? https://t.co/1JztfdRudn

When did I ask anyone to stop counting? And how is criticizing repeated election failures by same election official a fight to stop vote counting?

Why can’t Broward County elections do what 65 of 67 counties did, count all votes in timely way & in compliance with Florida law? https://t.co/dtujSqotYG

Every vote legally cast should be counted. That’s the law. Have no problem with recounts. That’s the law. But last early votes were cast Sunday & had to be submitted by Tue evening. That the law too. Yet 48 hours after deadline Broward County is only county still counting them
