CNN’s Cillizza Gives Away The Game On The Sexual Allegations Against Kavanaugh. It’s Ugly.

Sexual assault allegations should be taken seriously. They should be questioned, probed, and locked down – we should hear the truth. That’s what normal people say when faced with 36-year-old allegations of sexual assault by a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl.

Unless you’re a partisan hack. In that case, you suggest that such accusations should never be questioned or probed – to do so might undermine the accuser’s “personal truth.” You state that serious questions must be pushed to the side in the service of “compassion.” You explain that a man’s life should be destroyed based on unverified accusations because to do anything less means harming the accuser.

You do all of this in the run-up to an election in order to ensure that a Supreme Court justice isn’t confirmed, and in the hopes that the continuation of an open seat will drive Democratic turnout – and that such turnout will result in a Democratic Senate majority capable of rejecting any nominee from President Trump.

It’s rather obvious that Democrats like Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Kamala Harris (D-CA) are such hacks – they both believe that any hearing should be delayed until after an already-denied FBI investigation. They're attempting to avoid even allowing Ford to talk to the judiciary committee behind closed doors.

It’s also obvious that many members of the media are partisan hacks. CNN’s Chris Cillizza gave away the game on Tuesday in response to Senator John Cornyn’s (R-TX) request for more information from the accuser. Cornyn stated, “The problem is, Dr. Ford can’t remember when it was, where it was, or how it came to be. There are some gaps that need to be filled.” To which Cillizza responded:

Yes, clearly the dangerous line is asking questions – not destroying a man’s life based on uncorroborated accusations. None of this suggests that Ford is lying. It merely suggests that the Senate needs more information before convicting Kavanaugh in the court of public opinion. But asking questions is too much for many on the Left, who say that no hearing should be held, and demand that the FBI – a law enforcement agency tasked with investigating violations of federal law (none are alleged here) regarding an incident without time or place.

This is cynical garbage. And it actually undermines Ford’s credibility, which is truly tragic – the only thing that should undermine her credibility is, well, the credibility of accusations. Which is why we should ask questions. But when the side promoting accusations states that questions are out of bounds, that signals shakiness in the accusations. And that’s the fault of Democrats and their media acolytes.
