Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton will join the fight to block President Trump's SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh, all in the name of abortion. On Saturday, she will be hosting a pro-abortion rally dedicated to opposing him.
The rally, "Rise Up for Roe," will unfold in New York City, where Chelsea Clinton will speak; Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and Demand Justice Initiative will be organizing the event. Other speakers include Alyssa Milano, U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm.
As noted by LifeNews, Chelsea Clinton has been an outspoken abortion supporter for several years. At the height of Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign, Chelsea went as far as to say that she left the Baptist faith due to her opposition to abortion.
"I find it quite insulting sometimes when people say to my mom, my dad or me … that they question our faith," she reportedly said. "I was raised in a Methodist church and I left the Baptist church before my dad did, because I didn’t know why they were talking to me about abortion when I was 6 in Sunday school — that’s a true story."
Chelsea also said "we need to do everything we can to protect" Planned Parenthood.
"Rise Up for Roe" will be a 10-city tour that promises to be an "uncensored, no-holds-barred live show” to “talk about the very real threat #Kavanaugh poses to abortion rights." The event comes as The Hill reports that Planned Parenthood is launching a six-figure ad campaign to target Kavanaugh.
