President Donald Trump tweeted late on Monday that top economic adviser Larry Kudlow suffered a heart attack and has been hospitalized at Walter Reed Medical Center.
On Sunday, after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated Canada will "move forward with retaliatory measures" on July 1, triggered by the Trump administration's decision to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from Canada, the European Union and Mexico, Kudlow lashed out on CNN’s State of the Union, saying, "It was a betrayal.”
Kudlow said Trudeau’s comments were made for "domestic political consumption" and did "a great disservice to the whole G7." He added, "He really kind of stabbed us in the back.”
