Brian has an extensive educational background in history, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master of Arts degree in Ancient History from the University of Chicago. He further supplemented his studies with courses at Cornell University and the Institut für Papyrologie, Ruprecht Karls Universität, in Heidelberg, Germany.
