&#8203;I have to admit, I used to think CNN was just a left-leaning news outlet that hides its political bias but still occasionally reports the truth. Now I think CNN is a Trump-Russia wish fulfillment outlet that is so inept you would have to be a complete dumb*** to not see the leftist bias. Now what is the interim period between those two opinions, you ask? 16 hours, 16 earth-shattering hours to my mental capacities, 16 hours straight of CNN.
Who is it that came up with the masochistic idea of subjecting themselves to 16 hours of leftist propaganda? None other than our friends over at Louder with Crowder, of course! Being a masochist myself, I decided to join them on their journey, eventually leading me to ponder what exactly was more absurd: witnessing dwarf Jesus best dwarf Santa in the figgy pudding battle of the ages, or the fact that CNN is still on air&#8230; Sorry, I&#8217;m getting a bit off topic; I think the staggering mediocrity of Wolf Blitzer just gave me a mini-aneurism. Nevertheless, here are the five lessons I painstakingly learned from the #CrowderCNNLivestream.
1. Breaking News: The Story Already Broke
It doesn&#8217;t take long to notice that CNN breaks a story every 15 minutes or so with the words &#8220;Breaking&#8221; or &#8220;Developing&#8221; appearing on the chyron. This would be fine if any of the stories were actually just in; across the six to seven various stories they covered during the day, almost all the stories &#8220;broke&#8221; about five times each during CNN&#8217;s programing. Among those stories was a speech from Al Franken that happened a day before, a blurb about Bannon hating Bush Jr. that broke back in October, and speculation that Vice President Mike Pence liked President Donald Trump too much&#8230; yes, really. In reality CNN broke roughly 3 stories during its 16 hours of programming, but only the first time they covered it, not the second thru fifth times.
2. This Just In: Trump X Putin 16/7
About half of CNN&#8217;s coverage is dedicated to fueling a fantasy land where Trump-Russia collusion actually exists even after all of the narrative fails of the past few weeks. Adam Schiff should show his &#8220;evidence&#8221; sooner rather than later or CNN may be forced to move his sleeping bag out from under Jeff Zucker&#8217;s desk. Besides wish fulfillment, this illustrates how unnecessary the 24 hour news cycle truly is. I&#8217;ll touch on this a bit later.
3. Stop The Presses: CNN Is Not Republican Friendly
Even if President Trump were taken out of the equation, almost all the coverage of the day was critical of Republicans and roughly zero reflected badly on Democrats. Much of the day&#8217;s coverage was focused on the government shutdown and CHIP (Children&#8217;s Health Insurance Program) funding and how Republicans want to defund it, which is not true. Commentary consisted of Republicans wanting to kill nine million Tiny Tims, the constant interrupting of former Republican Senator Rick Santorum by host Brooke Baldwin and her Guest, and about five seconds of coverage when Republicans actually passed funding for CHIP after hours of how Republicans were literally going to kill children.
4. Read All About It: I&#8217;m So Dumb, I Don&#8217;t Think I&#8217;m Capable of Reading Anymore
Typically I only consume about an hour and a half of news a day, and I feel relatively informed after doing so. One might think after 16 hours of news, I would be really on the ball for that particular day, right? Wrong. The only newsworthy things covered for the day were the U.N.&#8217;s ruling to condemn Trump&#8217;s decision to move the U.S. embassy to Israel&#8217;s capital, Jerusalem, Republicans funding CHIP, and the Melbourne attack. This amount of information could have been summed up in about 30 minutes, and not been played to death over 16 hours. On top of the unnecessary length, I very nearly missed the fact that Republicans funded CHIP; I never heard the Melbourne attacker was of Afghan descent and was partially motivated by the mistreatment of Muslims; I didn&#8217;t hear a single thing mentioned about the Uranium One story despite it being trending on Twitter, and to add to the amount of sifting through speculation of Trump-Russia, I was treated to an hour segment of late night&#8217;s relationship with Trump. To make a long story short, I felt notably misinformed compared to any other typical day.
5. Developing: Jake Tapper Deserves a Better Home
Yes, I do still think Jake Tapper has a left-leaning bias, but I do think he tries to disseminate truth from time to time. A case in point: Tapper ran a segment on his show chastising the members of the U.N. with not-so-great humanitarian records in response to the U.N.&#8217;s vote to condemn the United States for recognizing Jerusalem as Israel&#8217;s capital. Bonus: Someone Give This Crowder Guy a Medal
I may not have walked away from this experience any smarter, but I certainly gained the wisdom that there is much merit to uttering the phrase &#8220;CNN is fake news.&#8221; For that revelation I owe thanks to Steven Crowder and Co. and if it weren&#8217;t for how wildly entertaining they are, I would have logged out 15 minutes in.

&#8203;It was a bit hard to hear anything going on outside of the United States last week due to the sheer amount of white noise coming out of the Trump&#8211;Russia scandal. People may have missed the Canadian senate hearings conducted last week on bill C-16.
Bill C-16 moves to add gender identity and gender expression to the list of prohibited grounds of discrimination. Its critics detect something more sinister under the surface of the bill. Perhaps most famous among those critics was clinical psychologist and Professor Dr. Jordan Peterson, who testified against the bill last Thursday. Much to the dismay of Peterson and his allies, the bill passed without amendment. Here are five things to know about Jordan Peterson and what the passing of bill C-16 entails.

1. The bill sets a precedent for compelled speech, posing a major threat to free speech.
This sparks Dr. Peterson&#8217;s main concern with the bill. Instead of legislating what can&#8217;t be said, the bill legislates what must be said. People must call particularly confused individuals by their preferred pronouns, lest they be met with the full force of the state. With ever-widening gender bending pronouns being promulgated, one can only imagine how easy it is to &#8220;misgender&#8221; someone by mistake. With the first law on the books for compelled speech, it only gets easier to make more laws modeled in the same fashion, representing a slippery slope to dangerous totalitarian politically-correct speech codes.
2. There is evidence the transgender community doesn&#8217;t even want the bill.
Dr. Peterson claims to have received roughly thirty letters from trans individuals, almost all supportive of him. Since that is a reasonable sample size of a very small proportion of the population, he believes the bill shines unwanted light on trans people when they really just want to be left alone. Most of the people pushing the law are seemingly the loud SJW types and the politicians who have no qualms in grabbing more political power.
3. The bill sets up a path to imprisonment.
The penalty for not using a tragically confused person&#8217;s preferred pronouns is a fine. If the fine is not paid to the Canadian government, they have the right to imprison the offender. 
4. Jordan Peterson has stated he is willing to go to prison in defense of his position.
If Dr. Peterson were to ever be charged with a hate speech crime, which is highly likely considering the amount of SJW&#8217;s that follow him from college event to college event, he vows to not take it sitting down. He has said he will not pay the fine, and if they imprison him, he will go on a hunger strike.
5. Concomitant with Dr. Peterson&#8217;s fight against political correctness, he lost research funding for the first time.
Though the timing could be coincidental, Jordan has lost his federal research funding grant for the first time in his career. He has been conducting research regarding the relationship between proclivities toward politically correct behavior and personality traits.

Once again, Richard Spencer is getting loads of media coverage because of a protest he led to block the possible removal of a General Robert E. Lee statue in Virginia over the weekend. Spencer still maintains he is not a racist, a claim rapidly approaching childish denial. 
Charges of racism should be reserved for actual racists, people who think skin color and culture are inseparable, so that the term actually means something. But when Spencer invokes KKK style imagery by marching with torches in the night and still denies he&#8217;s a white supremacist, it does seem like a spurious claim.
Why is Spencer getting so much media coverage? The aggressive media play could be, in the words of Daily Wire&#8217;s Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro, an attempt to paint conservatives and people on the right to all be secret Richard Spencer cabalists. 
This could not be further from the truth. To be fair, it is easy for people to think Richard Spencer is on the right, since he did coin the term Alt-right and is a leader of the Alt-right.
But the Alt-right has very little to do with the American right and conservatism when it comes to ideology. The Alt-right ideology shares common ground with left- wing ideology, and Spencer is a prime example of that. Here are four reasons why Richard Spencer is a racist leftist:
1. He badmouths capitalism regularly and promotes Bernie Sanders-style healthcare.
Spencer spouts common leftist mantras, such as: capitalism is evil and exploitative, and big corporations are out to get the little guy. While Spencer does not explicitly acknowledge it, he is a socialist at heart, even advocating that the Right should adopt most of Bernie Sanders&#8217; platform on universal healthcare and other economic issues.
2. He believes individualism and freedom are stupid ideas.
The American right&#8217;s ideology is predicated on the freedom of the individual to grow and thrive on his/her own without government intervention. The left, lacking faith in individualism, tends to think people need their hands held by the state and their freedoms restricted. Spencer stated at a recent speaking event at Auburn University that individualism and freedom were stupid concepts. He offers little rationale for his views, which could stem from his belief in racial collectivism.
3. He praises big government programs on a variety of issues.
Along with his advocacy of universal healthcare, Spencer offers big government programs to reinvent public transportation, solve climate issues, and forgive student debt. Even if any of these programs helped anything, which is doubtful, where would the money come from? Presumably higher taxes and higher deficits.
4. It&#8217;s a tactic of the left to play identity politics.
The right accepts and celebrates the idea that American and western culture is the greatest culture in the world. We are happy to encourage well-meaning and legal foreigners to assimilate into our culture in order for them to enjoy the benefits of pursing the American ideal. Richard Spencer, on the other hand, rejects the possibility that people either want to or should integrate with other cultures, as cultures tend to oppress each other. So in response to the left&#8217;s hard playing of minority racial grievances, Spencer uses the exact same logic to promote white racial grievances.

It appears to be the case that the fifteen-dollar minimum wage mandate is now the Democrat party consensus. The adoption appeals to an ever-hardening left on economic policy, and pushes business owners further away from Democrat interests. Of course, the left never has the entrepreneur&#8217;s interest at heart; here are 6 reasons why.
1. Democrats care more about wage disparity than the fact that running a business is risky.
Being an entrepreneur is a risky endeavor. Tons of time, money, and effort can be loaded into a business and at the same time be not guaranteed to succeed. Economic downturn, lawsuits, poor market timing, any array of reasons can sink a business, and more often than not, the entrepreneur&#8217;s livelihood relies on the doors staying open. Business owners even leverage their own assets in tough times to keep the lights on.
Meanwhile, the low skill employees of these entrepreneurs risk nothing to very little. Low skill laborers serve an important role in many businesses and are valued members of their teams, but they have a set wage in a position that is likely not too hard to come by. When Democrats say business owners are greedy and should pay their employees more, they undercut the extreme risks and hardships the owners may have gone through in order to get a higher wage, while the employees get to cash in on their employer&#8217;s back.
2. The left thinks the American economy is a zero-sum game, therefore there should be a salary cap.
The left believes there should be a limit to how much money a person can earn because they believe rich people are keeping all the wealth out of the hands of the poor. This is nonsense. When people do business, trade goods and services for cash, both parties are better off than they were before the trade. If this were not the case, they wouldn&#8217;t have voluntarily made the trade in the first place. Thus extremely wealthy entrepreneurs should be extremely wealthy because they made many other people better off as well. There should never be a cap on wages because entrepreneurs should be free to make as much money as possible so they can employ more workers and make more people wealthier.
3. Unfortunately Trump thinks this as well; International trade is a zero-sum game where Americans lose, therefore punish international businesses.
It is hard to see jobs leave the states for other countries, but when goods and services can be produced much cheaper abroad and resold at a discount to the American consumer, it is much better than having to buy more expensive and poorer quality products as a result of protectionist policies. The proper way to bring back jobs would be voluntarily through deregulation of industry and decreasing the corporate income tax to drive investment, not by the government threatening businesses and picking winners and losers.
4. Democrats argue for more red tape.
Regulations are a hassle for business owners. Getting things past the government is time-consuming and costly. Regulations also make it harder for new innovations to emerge in a field; this is why most innovative technologies and methods come out of the least-regulated industries.
5. Leftists try to sell the minimum wage in a Ponzi scheme pitch to small businesses.
A common argument for raising the minimum wage states that small businesses will do better because more people will have more money to spend as a result of the minimum wage hike. If this were true, businesses would collectively raise their own workers&#8217; wages without government intervention, eventually making unlimited amounts of money. People with half a brain can see through this argument; it&#8217;s too bad leftists only have a stem.
6. Forget about religious freedom and convictions. Two-fold if you&#8217;re a Christian.
Although not a recommended frequent business practice, businesses should be allowed to deny anyone service for any reason. This protects business owners from being forced to cater events they do not agree with. On the other hand, businesses which abuse this privilege will be cast out by the free market.

When he isn&#8217;t standing in an ice cream carton or tweeting about how selfish rich people are for owning three houses like himself, Bernie Sanders talks a bunch about raising the minimum wage to a &#8220;livable&#8221; wage of fifteen dollars an hour. In fact, Bernie is introducing new legislation to <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/democrats-15-minimum-wage-bernie-sanders_us_59009717e4b081a5c0f9539c">raise the minimum wage to fifteen dollars an hour by 2024</a>, and it has big Democrat names backing it, including Chuck Schumer.
Even if the Democrats rally around this bill, they will not be able to pass it without Republican support. Here are eight ways to dismantle minimum wage arguments to make sure that doesn&#8217;t happen.
1. Raising the minimum wage will cost people their jobs.
Businesses care about their bottom lines, so when they are forced to pay extra per employee, cuts will have to be made. Depending on how easily responsibilities can be shifted to other employees, or how substitutable the labor is in comparison to similar and cheaper automated machines, jobs will be lost in order to offset the costs.
2. The hike will disproportionately hurt small business.
Big businesses are likely to have much more capital to fall back on than small business. This means big businesses will be more financially capable of taking larger short-term costs in the form of investment in mass automated labor in order to cut future labor costs. Small businesses will likely have less opportunities to cut labor costs, and it will be hard for them to keep up with larger businesses and keep the doors open. This is why Walmart has not been opposed to minimum wage legislation in the past.
3. Minimum wage screws younger generations out of their first jobs, and that has nasty implications.
Higher wages encourage managers to hire people who are more experienced and capable of taking on more responsibilities. People who sorely lack these two attributes are youths who have never held a job. It is important for many young people to have the experience of working a low skill job; it builds a work ethic, character, and marketable skills. This experience allows them to better move into higher paying jobs in their future.
4. Minimum wage policy creates illegal labor markets.
Some businesses will try to cheat to get ahead by disobeying minimum wage laws. These practices involve hiring people who are willing to work for less than minimum wage in an under the table dealing. Issues arise when these businesses cheat their own employees out of pay and the employees are unable to go to the authorities because they were employed illegally. This issue would largely go away if the minimum wage did not exist.
5. Wages will not go down if there is no minimum wage.
Left-wingers seem to forget there is a supply component to supply and demand. Laborers will only work for what they are willing to work for; they are not forced to work for less. People are perfectly capable of moving on to another job if the employer won&#8217;t compensate them properly. Markets should be left alone to determine wages so companies can be free to buy better labor with higher wages.
6. People already making $15 an hour won&#8217;t be happy.
Ill-gotten gains through government coercion will allow any burger-flipping jobber to make as much as many fresh out of college grads. 
7. Granting the left&#8217;s fantasy that no jobs will be lost, everything will just get more expensive.
If all industries are unable to cut costs, they will just raise prices, causing inflation. Even in their best case scenario the Democrats will have accomplished nothing. That&#8217;s what happens when the government artificially raises wages.
8. Ask them to explain why they arbitrarily stop at $15 an hour.

Back when I was in grade school, science was not my favorite subject. The terminology was difficult and the testable projects were not easy to come up with without plucking them straight out of the class textbook. About the only thing I found enjoyable about the subject was the occasional clips shown to us of the Bill Nye the Science Guy television show during class. Clearly, Nye is a great child entertainer &#8211; just look at his current audience &#8211; and his show did have good points about scientific issues. But he just seems to not care anymore about some of the science he once seemed to care so passionately about. 
Here are four things Bill taught on his program that he apparently no longer believes.
1. Bill taught human life and personhood started at conception.
In a clip depicting how a &#8220;person&#8221; is made, Bill explains, &#8220;You and me, and every person, became a person the same way,&#8221; when a sperm cell fertilizes an egg cell. Bill even goes so far as to say the resulting zygote from fertilization was his baby picture. (relevant segment: 9:50 to 11:10)

Bill now claims human life starts when the embryo attaches to the uterine wall, but it has no rights. For a &#8220;science guy,&#8221; Bill relies on many emotion-driven arguments for abortion rights. For some reason pro-lifers have a &#8220;deep lack of scientific understanding&#8221; in his view, even though he made the same scientific case pro-lifers make every day.

2. The program taught that there are only two genders.
Below is a skit that explains that one&#8217;s genetic code is made up of X and Y chromosomes, which determine the gender of the child. An X inheritance from the father makes a person female, and a Y inheritance makes a person male. It&#8217;s just science. Bill now claims <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/15674/watch-bill-nye-destroys-whats-left-his-credibility-amanda-prestigiacomo">gender is a spectrum, and My Sex Junk is important and interesting</a>. No need for further comment.

4. Bill explained how probabilities affect insurance.

In a skit describing how car insurance works, Bill talks about how the probability of something bad happening to a car, e.g., accidents or grand theft auto, determines insurance prices. Bill goes on to say that if everyone got their car stolen, it would be impossible to insure because the insurance companies would make no money. Now just replace car insurance with life insurance and theft with pre-existing conditions, and you have a conservative case against universal health care. Oddly, I don&#8217;t see Bill Nye standing with conservatives on that issue. (relevant segment: 8:36 to 9:30)
