The U.S. Military is facing an &#8220;unprecedented&#8221; recruiting crisis under Democrat President Joe Biden that is forcing it to drastically cut forecasts for the number of new recruits that it expects to bring into the armed services.
The news comes as war has broken out in Europe between Russia and Ukraine, and China is increasingly acting hostile toward Taiwan. Both situations risk spiraling out of control and could end up with the United States being dragged into war.
The Associated Press reported that U.S. Army officials said this week that they will be 10,000 recruits short this year, and next year is projected to be even worse. The report said that Army Gen. Joseph Martin, vice chief of staff for the Army, indicated that the military branch could be down to 445,000 soldiers by the end of next year, down from what it was hoping would be 476,000 soldiers by the end of this year.
The report said that with the majority of the current fiscal year already gone, the Army has only met 50% of its recruitment goals.
Dr. Mark T. Esper, Secretary of Defense during the Trump administration, said that this was &#8220;a major issue affecting all the armed services.”
&#8220;The answer is NOT lower standards; quality must be paramount,&#8221; he wrote on Twitter. &#8220;Rather, we need a sustained effort by America&#8217;s leaders to inspire our youth to serve. &#8230; This is a growing national security issue!&#8221;
Martin tried to suggest that &#8220;competition with private companies&#8221; was a significant factor with the military&#8217;s recruiting struggles and said that if the trend is not reversed, the military would have to reconfigure things to be able to meet the challenges that it faces on the battlefield.
Top political commentators responded to the report by suggesting that the wokeness that has spread in the armed services under Biden has played a major factor in people not wanting to join.
&#8220;Maybe it’s better having a country that inspires patriots to defend it, rather than one that makes them want to throw up,&#8221; national security expert Dave Reaboi tweeted.
Political strategist Arthur Schwartz responded to the report by writing: &#8220;More pronouns, less recruits.&#8221;
The U.S. military has increasingly pushed LGBTQ ideas since Biden took office. Days before being sworn into office, Biden tapped transgender four-star Admiral Rachel Levine to be the Department of Health and Human Services assistant secretary for health. Levine became the first transgender federal official confirmed by the Senate.

East coast Democrats are starting to openly complain about having to deal with a large influx of illegal aliens who are being shipped from Republican-controlled states to their areas, saying that it’s putting a strain on their resources.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre responded to a question during a press conference this week about the &#8220;thousands&#8221; of illegal aliens who have been shipped to Washington, D.C., and New York City from Texas and Arizona amid Biden&#8217;s Border Crisis.
&#8220;We believe it’s shameful that — that some governors are using migrants as a political tool, as a political play, when we should be making sure that we’re doing everything that we can to help — to help folks who are coming into this process in a legal way and making sure that, you know, we do this in a — in a safe — in a safe way and a respectful way,&#8221; she said. &#8220;And I think it’s shameful that that is happening.&#8221;
New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) said during a press conference this week that the influx of illegal aliens being shipped to his city was a &#8220;real burden on New Yorkers.&#8221;
&#8220;As I stated, we already have an overburdened shelter system. So now we&#8217;re talking about, as you stated, food, clothing, schools,&#8221; he said. &#8220;This is going to impact our schools because we do not turn away individuals because they&#8217;re undocumented, need translation services. The border crisis has erupted under Biden&#8217;s leadership as U.S. Customs and Border Protection has <a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/nationwide-encounters">recorded</a> over two million encounters with illegal immigrants so far in fiscal year 2022. That&#8217;s the highest number ever recorded by the agency in one year, and the fiscal year still has over two months remaining.
The crisis has hit Republican-led border states like Texas and Arizona hard. Earlier this month, four Texas counties made an emergency invasion <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/texas-counties-officially-make-emergency-declaration-of-invasion-on-southern-border">declaration</a> over the border crisis. Arizona saw a staggering 579% <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/arizona-border-sector-spike-migrant-encounters">jump</a> in illegal immigrant encounters last year.
Florida also dealt with Biden&#8217;s Border Crisis when officials allegedly <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/11/06/desantis-office-claims-border-officials-secretly-sent-70-planes-of-migrants-to-florida/">sent 70 planes</a> of migrants to Jacksonville during the middle of the night last year. Republican Governor Ron DeSantis took steps last month to address the crisis and <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/3528011-desantis-signs-bill-cracking-down-on-immigration-in-florida/">signed a bill</a> forcing state agencies to work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and enforce immigration laws.

The border crisis that erupted during President Joe Biden&#8217;s presidency contributed to the poor response to the tragic mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, a new report from Texas officials says.
According to an investigation by state lawmakers, the lax security situation at Robb Elementary School — where 19 children and two teachers were killed by a gunman — was caused in part by a high frequency of &#8220;security alerts and campus lockdowns&#8221; resulting from a rise in &#8220;bailouts.&#8221; In border communities, the term &#8220;bailout&#8221; refers to when a human trafficker will try to outrun authorities. These chases usually end in a car accident, and with passengers fleeing.
&#8220;The frequency of these &#8216;bailout&#8217;-related alarms—around 50 of them between February and May of 2022—contributed to a diminished sense of vigilance about responding to security alerts,&#8221; the lawmakers&#8217; report said.
Furthermore, state lawmakers found that security alerts at that particular school were triggered often because of its proximity to the intersection of Highway 83 and Highway 90. Only an hour west of the area is the Del Rio Sector of the U.S.- Mexico border, which has seen multiple large illegal border crossings.
&#8220;Numerous witnesses testified to the Committee that there has been an increase in bailout activity over the past 18 months,&#8221; the report said. &#8220;Uvalde CISD Director of Student Services Kenneth Mueller testified that since February 2021, high-speed chases have been a daily event in the Uvalde area, causing Uvalde CISD schools to be secured or locked down frequently, with 47 &#8216;secure&#8217; or &#8216;lockdown&#8217; events happening since late February 2022, and approximately 90% of those being attributed to bailouts.
The report said that the alert system &#8220;does not differentiate its signals between bailouts and other kinds of alerts, such as an active shooter situation&#8221; and that school faculty responded to the alerts &#8220;with less urgency&#8221; because of how often they were occurring. As such, many at the school assumed the alert that went out right before the shooting was a bailout.
Just a week before the Uvalde mass shooting, the U.S. Border Patrol <a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/local-media-release/eagle-pass-border-patrol-agents-encounter-six-large-groups-migrants">apprehended</a> six groups of at least 100 illegal immigrants within a 36-hour period. Customs and Border Patrol reported that since October 2021, Del Rio Sector agents have seen a major increase in crossings, encountering over 236,000 illegal immigrants.
The state lawmakers&#8217; report comes amidst continued criticism of the emergency response to the shooting.
Law enforcement officers who arrived on the scene within minutes at Robb Elementary during the shooting proceeded to wait outside the classroom the gunman occupied for over an hour, even as some of the victims were still alive, calling for help from inside.

Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis slammed President Joe Biden during a press conference this week over the high energy prices that are hurting American families.
DeSantis&#8217; remarks came after Biden visited Saudi Arabia last week, and failed to secure a commitment from them to produce more oil to help lower prices in the U.S. Biden and his party appear poised to get shellacked in the upcoming midterms due to the shape of the economy and high inflation rates.
“How come it’s wrong to produce our own oil and gas here, but you can go to Saudi Arabia and fist bump to try to get it from Saudi?” DeSantis asked during Monday’s press conference. “I mean, it makes no sense that we wouldn’t do it. We have opportunities here to be energy independent and not have to worry about any of these other countries. And yet they’re intentionally not doing it and you can’t run a modern economy on windmills. You just can’t do it.&#8221;
&#8220;And so now we&#8217;re in a situation where they&#8217;re bragging that gas has gone down over the last however many weeks, it’s still over four bucks! Like I had never seen it over $4 in my whole life living here,&#8221; DeSantis continued. &#8220;It’s just when you’re cranking the printing presses, you’re making energy more expensive. You know, that creates an upward pressure on all of this stuff. And so the acceleration from May to June that we saw at the end of June, not only was — they said it wouldn’t happen, then they said it was a blip, and they said it would peak soon. It still didn’t peak even after that. And so that’s really making it difficult for a lot of people, you know, to make ends meet.
DeSantis added that any gains that people may come by in their personal finances are likely &#8220;wiped out immediately with the Bidenflation.&#8221;

Biden has consistently tried to pin the blame for high gas prices on Russian President Vladimir Putin and his invasion of Ukraine, but gas prices were on the rise even prior to Putin&#8217;s war. Gas prices <a href="https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&amp;s=EMM_EPMR_PTE_NUS_DPG&amp;f=W">hit</a> $3.53 per gallon on February 21, three days before Russia&#8217;s invasion of Ukraine, after gradually rising by nearly $1 since February 2021.
Oil and gas executives have even <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/oil-experts-release-10-point-plan-for-biden-to-fix-energy-crisis-that-has-erupted-under-his-leadership">pointed</a> to specific areas in the president&#8217;s policy, such as its restrictions on federal lands, that have affected the U.S. oil supply and resulted in Americans taking a bigger hit at the pump.
When Biden took over the office from former President Donald Trump, gas prices <a href="https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&amp;s=EMM_EPMR_PTE_NUS_DPG&amp;f=W">averaged</a> around $2.38 per gallon nationwide. That price more than doubled in mid-June hitting $5.00, but has since decreased slightly. Today, the national average sits at $4.50, <a href="https://gasprices.aaa.com/">according</a> to AAA, still more than double from when Trump left office.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) admitted this week that he killed the nomination of a pro-life conservative federal judge because Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) failed to consult him, even though he supported the judge.
Paul said in a statement that he &#8220;supported&#8221; Chad Meredith&#8217;s nomination to the U.S. District Court vacancy in Kentucky&#8217;s Eastern District. Meredith, whose nomination was part of a deal that Republicans made with President Joe Biden, is a member of the Federalist Society, a group that studies and advocates for an originalist interpretation of the Constitution.
&#8220;I think he would make a good judge,&#8221; Paul told USA Today. &#8220;Unfortunately, instead of communicating and lining up support for him, Senator McConnell chose to cut a secret deal with the White House that fell apart.&#8221;
Paul told Politico that McConnell was &#8220;to blame for tanking this because he tried to do [it] secretly.&#8221;
&#8220;We have no reason to be opposed to Chad Meredith, other than we want at least the courtesy of the &#8230; minority leader, thinking that he&#8217;s not so important that he doesn&#8217;t have to talk to his fellow state senator, that&#8217;s all we wanted,&#8221; Paul continued. &#8220;This was a secret deal by McConnell.&#8221;

Last week, McConnell <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/15/us/politics/biden-mcconnell-judge-abortion.html">told</a> the New York Times that Paul&#8217;s opposition to the nomination was &#8220;utterly pointless.&#8221;
&#8220;The net result of this is it has prevented me from getting my kind of judge out of a liberal Democratic president,&#8221; he said.
An adviser for the minority leader commented that Paul was doing Democrats and the White House &#8220;a huge favor&#8221; by tanking Meredith&#8217;s nomination. &#8220;I suspect the White House is relieved; I suspect Dick Durbin is relieved; and I suspect that the political people in the Biden team are relieved that Rand Paul blew this up,&#8221; the McConnell adviser said, <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2022/07/18/rand-paul-blames-mcconnell-tanking-biden-deal-judge/10086380002/">according</a> to USA Today. &#8220;He did them a huge favor.&#8221;
