Reese Witherspoon had something to say about rumors that surfaced earlier this week that she and Kevin Costner have started dating.
The 47-year-old actress broke her silence on Thursday over reports that she and Costner have been talking a whole lot lately and that discussions over a possible project together had turned into something more following both stars’ recent divorces.
“This story is completely fabricated and not true,” a representative for the “Legally Blonde” star told Page Six.

The rumors started after Australian publication New Idea reported that an insider said, “Kevin’s had his eye on Reese ever since she won her Oscar, but he didn’t count on finding her absolutely charming as hell.”
“They’ve been calling and texting on the pretense of finding the perfect script, but it’s becoming almost a daily occurrence,” the alleged insider added.
“No-one is surprised that Kevin and Reese have hit it off,” the alleged source continued. “They’re extremely compatible.”
In March, Witherspoon announced she and ex-husband Jim Toth were separating after 11 years of marriage, just days before their 12th wedding anniversary, the Blast noted.
“We have some personal news to share… It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the since-deleted post on Instagram read. “We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”

“Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter,” the post added. “These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time.”
The “Sweet Home Alabama” star and Toth share a son together. Their divorce was finalized in August. The superstar actress also shares two children from a previous marriage.
In May, reports surfaced that Costner and his then-wife Christine Baumgartner were divorcing after 18 years of marriage.
“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action,” a representative for the “Yellowstone” star said in a statement.
“We ask that his, Christine’s, and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time,” the statement added.
The pair share three children together. Their divorce was finalized in September.
